What's the advantage or disadvantage of a skid over a tractor

I have never seen a skidsteer working in the field. I have seen them with Post-hole-digger in use. But only on flat ground and no mud.
Skidsteer works great for cleaning out dairy barns and tight quarters.

Whooeee! They're the cat's jammies with a bale grabber on the front! :thumbsup: They "buck" a little bit on a rolly hayfield but on a flat field - look out!

Pay some attention to speed of turns, etc. - but, they'll load bales onto a trailer so fast it'll almost make you say - "don't care 'bout no rain"!

Track steer is better than skid steer also... on the hay field.

Its like saying why would anyone buy a used mini excavator for 15-20k when you can buy a compact tractor with a backhoe on the back. Could be preference too. end/thread
