Hello, I'm in the market for either a 5' or 6' finishing mower. I know Bush Hog, Land Pride, and Woods are top of the line brands, but which one do you recommend most?

Local dealers carry Bush Hog, Land Pride, Woods, King Kutter, Taylor-Pittsburgh, and LMC. I also have a Tractor Supply close by, but would rather support a dealer than a box store.

I have looked for used ones but haven't had any luck.

Thanks for the replies.

Travis,
All good brands, and you will probably be satisfied with any one. For me it would depend on which dealer I liked best, and which gave me the best price.
I have had the Bush Hog, which I bought used, and wore out 10 years later, and now own the 7' woods. Bought it new to replace the hog 2 yr's ago. Big heavy unit. Love it. only complaint is I bought the 7' to replace a 6' and that 1' makes it TOO BIG sometimes.
Don't' know about the others, never used them, but from reading here, they also make good machines. Sure someone will jump in shortly. Let us know which one you decide on.

I have been very happy with my Woods RM660. Bought it new almost 20 yrs ago now. Never had a problem with it that I didn't cause myself. Mowed yards at 3" and fields at 6" for years, but lately just been using it to mow the fields. Don't have my diary handy, but I would say I'm well over 600 hrs on it. Still running the original spindle belt. Of course, a lot of things aren't built as well now as they were 20-yrs ago, but Woods still has a very fine reputation, I believe.

I was very pleased with my BEFCO 5 foot. The things are kinda expensive now. but wasnt too bad when I bought it. Traded it off with the tractor 2 tractors ago.... Mistake. But I didn't need it.. But I can highly recomend it.

I had 2 BEFCO mowers...both came with tractors I bought. No complaints about either one's performance. Just routine maintenance was all that was ever required.
The first BEFCO was traded in when I traded the tractor. The second was a 7' unit and just way more then I needed...sold that one to a buddy of mine and bought a Deere Frontier (made by Woods) 6' unit. This is also a very good mower.
