Seafoam

I just started my Gravely 5460 that I treated with a stiff dose of Seafoam in the Fall. In all the years I've owned it it has never fired up that fast, in fact it has always been a hard starter. After sitting all Winter it was running in seconds.

Sounds like a scientific test repeated several times to ensure no fluke statistics. You could also have added some fuel injection antifreeze which is IPAD. Which would have dissolved gum, varnish and absorbed moisture. Wait a minute? IPA is the only active In Seafoam. Let's use an overpriced jug of fancy elixer.

I never thought about it that way. I'm going to stop using it right away. Hard starting and poor performance is a small price to pay not to appear unscientific.

At the current price per can of Seafoam, and the results it provides me,I will go to it before I go to my toolbox ,manuals and parts books.

Physicians often prescribe placebos for those folk who want to feel better but the issue is all in thier heads.Seafoam does the same for those looking for quick easy miracle fixes in a bottle or can.

And obviously a dumb farmer like myself is too stupid to know the difference.

If it works... why not go with it?

There are things I can buy cheaper... cheaper doesn't always equate to a better deal...

I can buy aggregate much cheaper a ton if I drive 20 miles, self haul and buy 20 tons at a time... I will gladly pay more for a half ton delivered if this is all I need.

The last garden power tool I bought came with a mini can of Stabil... for what ever reason the manufacturer thought enough about Stabil as an additive to recommend and provide a sample...

Roach Proof is almost 100% boric acid... I thought why should I pay the price of a can of roach proof when I can buy boric acid direct from a supply house...

They had a $50 minimum purchase and now I have several lifetimes of boric acid just waiting to be used...

I am totally sold on Sea Foam. My ZTR mower w/26hp Kawasaki had surging carburator problems. I ran some SF straight into carb and then switched over to gasoline without the Sea Foam and the problem cleared up immediately. Saved me at least $150.00.

The "Placebo Effect" doesn't work on engines. Seafoam does.

Probably shouldn't use it. Even though it seems to work for people and does what it advertises to do and the people are satisfied with their purchase from this American owned company providing American jobs in it's manufacture, sales and distribution to be sold by American owned stores who employ Americans. The nerve of these SOB's swindling folks like that. Can't believe the idiots who spend their hard earned money on snake oil like this, all these satisfied customers are so stupid they don't know how bad they are being swindled.
