Admission to shows--RIPOFF

When is the last time a gun show had free admission:laughing:

Cost money to rent space, and for the minimal fee, as mentioned, worth the entertainment.

Look at it this way, how much would it cost you in gas to drive to all of the vendors if they weren't in one place at the same time? Probably more than the admission.

The last gun show I went too was at least 15 years ago. I can't remember if they charged to get in or not. I have not been back because all they were selling was junk and it was not worth my time to go to the show much less the cost of fuel and admission, if there was a charge

The price for admission goes to the company running the show, not the people selling.

Frankly, the vendors I saw would not be worth a visit if they had a store somewhere. The last few shows I went to just were not worth it. A waste of time. Not a thing I wanted much less needed.

I can get what I want out of a catalog or over the Internet without having to drive to an hour or so to the gun show.

Later,
Dan

The exhibitors do they have to pay to be part of the show? or is it free for them to set up?

I don't know about "all" shows, but the ones I have checked into had a Booth space fee. even the small town near me with it's "Western Day Festival" has a small booth/vendor fee.

Last time i went to GunShow here it was $8.00 and ended up 2 hours later with out any thing..I told them at window, they were pricing themselves out of work. They laughed and said most customers compained about the same thing. So that was 2 years ago, i broke the chain?

I've never been to one of the gun shows. But I have gone to RV shows and boat shows where a fee was charged. Sometimes I paid and sometimes a dealer gave me free tickets.

I certainly have no complaints about what they charge. I know it costs money to put on those shows, and if you might be interested in the type of products being shown, it brings a lot of different dealers together in one place, so you don't have to drive around visiting individual dealers.

And if the price of admission is too high; no problem, I just don't go. For instance, if a gun show was free, I might go look, but since I'm not in the market for a gun, I don't pay to go to gun shows. It's just that simple for me.

Yeah...I haven't been to a gun show in years...probably close to 8 or 9 years.
I wouldn't mind paying an admission if there were still deals on ammunition, but I haven't seen any $90 for a thousand rounds of 7.62x39 or 5.56 mil-surp...has anybody?

I went to a free gun show last weekend, called Cabela's. There was no recession at the gun counter, you could hardly get near it.

What comes to my mind was last summer we went to Tupelo Ms to the Azaelia Festival. We got to pay 3 dollars to park in a feild, and getting to the gate they had a 15 dollar per person admission. I almost had a stroke, THey couldnt tell me what all was going on. I had been years back and it was free but scoping around the place I didnt see anything of interest to me. We just drove down to some home owners and gardeners that threw a free show taking donations and I gave donated 10 bucks. It was more interesting than the BS in the park.

We give 7.50 each t go to te county fair down the road. It gets smaller each ear but lately 4H has put on some neat animal exibits. Its a tradition though. THey do throw a good rodeo to.

I agree that it costs alot to run an event but the Azealia fest burnt me.
