How are you getting good compaction on the water side?

Put a yard+ of dirt in the loader and drive back and forth over the lip. You can see my front wheel tracks if you look closely. Anymore compaction than that ain't happening. It's plenty as far as I'm concerned.

I know other folks besides me have asked about how the ponds and dams will
relate to each other when done. Can you do a little sketching on this Sat view?

The map he posted in Post #202 seems to show what you're asking for:

I guess I missed that one. Thanks
Does TBN index the images by forum name?
I was keeping the email notices of postings I might want to go back too for a while but that was a waste as clicking on past notices always take me to the last current post.

I put on my glasses and could easily see that the light had a big "P" on it instead of the engine symbol. What a dope! . . . but a lucky dope.:D

Jim, a lesser man would have seen the "P" and thats what he'd went and done:D

I can relate to not having glasses on!! If it had been me, supposing I even found the BH, it would certainly have been new "fish habitat" with me driving with no lenses on near your pond.

You sure have been blessed with the weather. Enough moisture to work your dirt and enough good day's to get allot done. You may get the 1st "test" this evening through Tuesday, get through this one and you'll be "certified":thumbsup:

Yeah, I've been blessed, but I'm sure tired of panicked dirt hauling sessions while watching the skies for rain clouds. I started to go out there this morning to haul more clay, but I came to my senses. If I get a little washout on the dam, I'll just rebuild it and continue. There's no need to race back and forth hauling clay like a madman.:)

You'll probably come out "ahead" too, If this storm does any damage to the dam, no point "walking the same ground" and now that you have your hose's and the "P" fixed:D you'll be dam ready to deal with whatever happens.

I still have running water in my "dry" creek bed, so this one should produce allot of run-off.

OH yeah, I had asked you earlier in the thread, what kind of vegetation are you going to put on your dam? I was thinking Bermuda, which is common here, but thought you might have came up with an "exotic"/ better idea. Nice to learn from others endeavors.

EDIT:I have to tell a funny story on myself. Yesterday, I started the backhoe and noticed a red light on the panel did not go out. OH BOY! Just what I need. I didn't have my glasses on, but it looked like a low oil pressure light. . . now it's gettin' really bad! I got off the tractor and checked the oil. It was only down about 1/2 qt, but I refilled it anyway. I restarted the engine and the light was still there.:confused3: I was ready to just shut off the engine and walk back to the house when my hand bumped the parking brake handle and the light went off. Sheesh! I put on my glasses and could easily see that the light had a big "P" on it instead of the engine symbol. What a dope! . . . but a lucky dope.:D

The big red "P"
The OSHA boys have required that the CNH I have won't even start unless the "P" is on. I don't like leaving the parking brake on from old bad experiences with truck brakes getting frozen because of the parking brake being left on. I'd rather park in gear than trust a brake on the hills around here. I have found that even putting the F/R lever in neutral and engaging "P" will not allow a start after that without turning the key completely off before trying to crank again.

I can start my TLB, but as soon as I move the shuttle to fwd or rev, a loud horn goes off. The only thing that will keep my TLB from starting is the shuttle out of neutral. I can start in any gear as long as the shuttle is neutral.
