Buying Advice Need Help/Recommendation for a 15' Bat Wing Finish or Rotary Cutter Mower...

I cut 20 acres every two weeks and the other 30 acres are being cut by a gentleman who I let have the hay for his cattle for keeping/improving the land...The reason I cut 20 is because my wife likes the look...I don't mind it either...Complicating the issue is that I live 400 miles (each way) from my farm and I only go home on the weekends and I only get Saturday's to mow (weather permitting)...I don't like sitting on a mower that long and I desire to cut it as soon as possible...I would also like to spend some time with my wife when I'm home...

After I retire I might start cutting those additional 30 acres..."Might" being the key word...

Cows...The land is not fenced and I won't spend the money to fence it and I don't want any cows...

Pictures are always nice,I think so anyways... I would let the guy keep the hay meadow if he is taken care of it. Now if hes not doing what you think is up to par,do a lease agreement,and if he doesnt wonna stay within yalls come to agreement good bye,lol. My lease places mow or spray twice a year on cattle lease pastures,gotta keep it nice.

So true,I forgot to mention that part:thumbsup: You have to either bale twice a year or have cattle on atleast 6mnths out of the year. I pick-up 20acres here and there all the time that the owners wonna keep the ag.ex so they lease it to me,all I have to do is keep fences up,keep mowed and spray once year,no money for it cost me maintance/fuel/chemical cost/etc,2yr lease agreements or more.

I own my own company in Houston and my farm is out of state and is one which has a state income tax burden so my farm is just an investment for me and is not classified as a business at this time... I don't want to establish any business outside of the Lone Star State for that reason alone... I'm sure that you know what I mean...

Hoping to retire in a couple of years and perhaps I'll look at forming a small LLC or something to bring me in as a bonafide (and legal) farmer... Right now I just like to get out of the Houston hub-bub and hop on my tractor and just mow... Gets the city out of me pretty quick and takes me back to my youth again as I grew up on a farm... Had no ambition (ever) to live and/or work in the 3rd largest city in the United States but Good Lord Willin' I'll be retiring in a couple of years back to a simple, yet fulfilling farming lifestyle arrangement again...

While I'm working I want to get set up with my farming equipment needs so I'm taking that plunge now... Want to buy this equipment smart as I would like to get at least 15-20 years of service out of my farming equipment investments...
