Any 1860 owners here?

If so, I've got a question about the hydraulics. As far as I see, there's only one lever which controls the raising/lowering of the 3PH arms and the mid-mounted mower simultaneously.

Am I missing something here?

Is there some way to select mid/rear/both like you can do with the mid and rear PTOs?

Because I sure wouldn't want to have something mounted on the 3PH and find that it's moving up & down when I'm raising & lowering the mower deck.

This probably is covered thoroughly in your manual, of course.

I never had an MMM, but I did want the controls for the deck to be locked up, out of harms way, when I worked the 3 ph. You can lock the deck arms in the UP position, if I remember correctly.

Great tractor, btw.

Like bp said the mmm can be locked up when height is in the TOP position. There is no easy way to lock the 3pt up unless you chain it manually.

I think the mower deck can indeed be locked in the up position by raising it up and then turning the height adjustment knob to the full up position.

But that didn't answer my question. What do you do if you want to use the mower at the same time you have something mounted on the 3PH (and don't want the 3PH moving up/down with the mower deck)?

Surely there must be a way to keep the 3PH from moving. If not, that's craziest design I can imagine.

The only way I know of to hold the arms up is to chain them up manually. I know it is not convient. Normally when cutting the lawn I take off any 3 pt equipment... but that's just me.

There are 2 rings on the back of the tractor that look like lifting rings or something. Take the lift rods loose from the upper lift arms and pin to those 2 rings. That holds the 3 point up in a fixed position. That's the only way you can raise and lower the mower without moving the 3 point.

The mower can be raised and locked in the"TOP" position with the height adjuster and the 3 point can operate independently.

If the mower is lowered, you can't raise the 3 point without lifting the mower.

Thanks, that'll work.

Pin the lifting rods to the holder plate brackets which will make the 3PH stationary. The lifting arms will continue to move up & down when the MMM is raised/lowered but the drawbar position will remain static. The lifting rod turnbuckles can adjust the drawbar to the correct height to accommodate my liquid fertilizer spreader.

That way I can use the spreader while mowing without having it move up/down when I'm raising/lowering the MMM.
