My guess is that you'll not need the extra weight or strength... Have you looked at the B2620 or BX25LB-T? You might be able to swing it with a backhoe...

We started off looking at the bx25 with a quote of 17500, which is the price range we had targeted. However we thought it may be a little small for the 5' rototiller and 6' finish mower, we have a 5' bush hog that will be used once in awhile.
I never operated it so I don't know for sure if it would be big enough.
I agree that we could go smaller but there is not much savings in the kioti line until the ck20, which may be a little small.
Thanks for the suggestions.

I had hoped to get a backhoe with the new tractor but that does not seem to fit the buget.

Don

While it is NOT a backhoe you might consider a clamp-on bucket spade for occasional digging. Any bucket spade surely beats a shovel-in-your-hand.

Several companies offer bucket spades. Mine came from Bucket Solutions.

I own a Kubota B3300SU......and I like it. Only Deere and Kubota distributors in my area of Florida.

Good luck on your decision.[/QUOTE]

I have never heard of these before, video makes them look very interesting. I will look into this farther.
Thanks!

I made something similar. It is better than a wooden handled shovel.. it is made out of scraps I had from the junk pile, and 2 pieces of 3/8 bar I bought, Rod chain and tensioner probably less that $25 It isnt a backhoe but I dug a big stump of with it last fall. Took a while.

the kioti weighs that much more??? i think the weight of the kubota you mentioned is tractor only and the weight of the kioti you mentioned is tractor with the fel? the kubota would come in around 2700lbs with the fel on and the kioti weighs 3142lbs with fel on.

I took the Kubota weight without fel from their web site and yes, the Kioti weighs in at 3142 without loader. Add @700lbs for the loader for a total of @3842.

my apologies victorw. i never thought the "ck" series tractors weighed that much more then kubota's. i was thinking the "dk" series might, but was surprised. the kioti's are a heavy built tractor! looked liked a nice tractor too from what i saw on the website.

biggest difference i saw besides the weight and 3ph, was the kioti has a 3 cylinder engine as to kubota's 4 cylinder v-1505 diesel. the fuel filter was up in the engine compartment as the b3300su is down near the lower loader frame. the b3300su would work better for me and what i do, but i think the kioti would make a great tractor if you go that route. the kioti would have more weight to help balance the tractor during your front loader work while backfilling and better traction when tilling and using your 6 ft rear blade. however, i know the b3300su would also handle these tasks as i have done them with my simular b7800, but i will admit the extra weight of the kioti would help. the bush hog could easily be run by both. back to the 3 vs 4 cylinder, the kioti would get better fuel economy, but i bet the kubota would have more torque and be a little easier on the engine as it has 4 cylinders working instead of just 3, but will also use a little more fuel to do it. i can see why it is a tough decision for you. if i was in your shoes, i would pick the one that feels better when i test operated it. good luck and enjoy.

Kioti also has their 4 year unlimited hour warranty vs. kubota's two year.

I just picked up a dk35. I too was originally looking at the 3300su then realized for about a grand more could go to the L3800 then realized I could have a grand L except made by kioti. I'm very happy with my dk and I think you would be to. The position control is awesome and the standard features would add 2k or more to a comparable orange tractor

I faced the exact same choice a few years ago. I bought the Kioti for four reasons:

1. More weight. I do a lot of FEL work and don't worry about the lawn etc.
2. Longer warranty
3. Zero interest financing at the time
4. At the time the Kioti was quite a bit cheaper (about 3000 dollars).

So, give the last 2 points are not valid to you, what about the first two?

I think either would be an amazing choice.

My last thought is dealer reputation. That is enough to sway me one way or another if one of your two has a sketchy rep.

Good luck!

Thanks everyone, here is what I have learned from you so far.
Kioti and Kubota have more than enough HP for my needs. CK series has better hydraulic pump, is much heavier, 3 pth lifting stronger, has position control, 3 cylinder engine ( more like the kubota L series), 4 year warranty vs 2 year, extra features and options like cruise control and mid pto.
We have a number of dealers for both brands close by. I like the Kubota dealer in town here better but the others seem ok. Kubota resale value is very high here. They say kioti resale is good but I have not seen many for sale.
Kubota is lighter, may be easier on the lawn while mowing.
I will have a lot of loader work this year so the extra weight of the kioti may help.
Looks like the kioti is ahead in specs. The 3pth and rear axle on the kioti looks so much better than the b3300su, more like the L series, but the kubota dealer said they have never had a failure with these so maybe that is not an issue.
I am leaning to the Kioti but I sure love the looks of the kubota.
I can test drive the kioti but the kubota is not in stock at my dealer.
Did I miss anything?
Thanks for your help

It is a hard choice, but here is the good news, now matter what choice you make it will be the right choice for you. They are both good, just slightly different. If you can get your hands on both and see what one fits and "feels" the best, go from there.

I think you have it figured out. Now the choice. Either would be a good tractor for your needs but which one fits them a little better being that each one is slightly different and offers advantages for different jobs. As mentioned, dealer support is important and if I were you, I'd like to see, feel, and drive a Kubota before making the decision even if I had to drive somewhere.
