Depends on your time but a B-series would get the job done but an L-series would get it done a bit faster but would be over your price limit.

Have B2710 and it's a great tractor. have a 48" tiller and a pull behind discer and both work fine.

The dealer from whom you purchase the tractor is a primary factor in your selection. They can make a good tractor look bad or bad tractor look good depending on how they serve you. I live where dealers are few and far between. The dealer I work with sells New Holland and Kubota. He treats me like family, and I don't mean the bastard child. He sells a mainly New Holland in the large ag tractors and Kubota in the smaller tractors. He says nothing against the small New Hollands but the Kubota's sell on their own reputation.

Check out the Mahindra line--30-40 hp (engine) size would fit in your budget.

Nothing wrong with buying used...and $15K can buy a pretty nice used tractor.
My suggestion would be a Deere 4300 or 4310 (1998 to 2004 model years).

Welcome to TBN!!

did a quick search and found this!

John Deere 4310 Tractor (2004)

That's a good price...think it will fit your needs?

BTW, I expect that tractor to sell very quickly...if you're interested, I suggest you move fast.

One task you mentioned was planting Cherry trees. If you're planting seedlings or saplings, a PTO driven post hole digger would be a much less expensive option then a backhoe.
