Carey -- yes, mine looks like the pic you posted. Question for you: What does the fitting on the tank that the hose plugs into look like? Is there a separate fitting or just an opening in the tank?

When I bought it was just a hole with the return line Loosely gong into the Tank. All I did was used a piece of vacume hose a Inch or so and Ran the line through it and put it in the hole of the Tank. That plugged it up. You would never know it even looking at the pic. you might now that I told you what to look for

Clemsonfor just stated he leaves his cap loose which i new of the Pressure build up problem if the tank is not Vented. Thats why I used the old ATV fitting to prevent that from happening. I actually could see bubbles coming out and then I realised where the Fuel was coming from esp. when it had a full or nearly full tank. I'm From WV. and Ohio and know the Climate and IMHO you need to set up your TS. I can show you my On Cheap setup that works great. One of my Better Ghetto Rigs. Trust me there's some that I not so proud of :laughing: All your expense will be for the Igniter if its not there. If it's not all your have to do is remove the Bolt and screw it in and run power to it which can be done alot of different ways. When I first set mine up I just used a wire straight to the + post on the battery. But when I found out how well it worked you can see I ran it Through my Ign. Switch.

Its not so much that i leave it loose. I have all the factory pieces for my tank its just that their design was only designed to be snug, not wrenched down. If you pul the rubber washer off under the cap you can see a slot in it that allows it to vent, if your crank the cap down it closes this vent channel off.

Mine doesn't vent well enough to let me tighten the cap at all. I have to have it just barely sung or it will turn the tank inside out literally.

When I first got it I had it sitting out in the sun and I noticed the top of the tank wasn't visible any more. So I walk up and see its all sucked down inside itself so I leave it just snug any more and its works fine.

Mine was just the opposite it was getting Pressured up. I could actually see the Air bubbles coming from around the return line. Someone else may tighten it up and I didn't want that to happen and added this Vent Tube so it was Quick and easy solution.

Yes, mine is just a hole but had a some random piece of plastic jammed into it. It looked like the plastic piece of a wall anchor that the screw would go into... Anyway, I just pulled that out and fed the overflow tube into that. There's a gap around the tube so no danger of pressurization/depressurization.

Thanks for the offer to help get a TS set up on my 1700. I didn't have cause to start my tractor this winter, and it's a good thing because I don't think I could have done it. I'm hoping to sell off my 1700 since I just ordered a 2210 and don't need 2 tractors, so I don't think I'll try to make any more mods. Just clean it up and ship it out. :thumbsup:
