Thinking of Purchasing Ford F-150 - Some Questions

those are both very nice looking trucks! how do they feel about the salesman that ya'll(dang southern speak coming out again.lol) dealt with? how did he treat them? remember, if they do buy the truck they are going to have to deal with these people afterwards for warranty work, repairs, etc. My salesman is awesome before, during, and after the sale. he's the only reason I stay with GM trucks to be honest.

Don't depend on a salesman to know lickity squat about a product they are selling. you can know more about a vehicle in 30 mins of research online then they would know and they apparently get training on new products every year.

The 3.5 is more powerful than the 5.0. Not sure why the confusion but the EB and 6.2 are more closely matched.

Glad you were impressed with the EB. I think anyone who has actually driven one will be.

UPDATE:

Both my parents test drove two F-150's yesterday. We first tested an Ecoboost XLT. Both my parents were impressed with the EB engine. We then tested a Lariat (none available with XLT trim) with the 5.0 and were not as impressed. Overall they (and me) liked the truck. Two things they did not like:

1. Turn signal. They both had a hard time keeping it locked.
2. Mirror adjustment. Hard to operate.

Other than that were impressed. We are probably leaning toward the 3.5 EB engine.

The turn signal they will get used to. Push it halfway and it gives a 3 flash and stop for lane changes. Full push stays on until you turn. My only complaint is the loud signal it gives. Probably be looking for the "speaker" and putting a muffler on it.

There are two factory hitches available. The Max Tow package has a higher rated hitch. Here is a picture of mine.

Let me know if you have any questions that your dealer can't answer. I know these trucks pretty well.

it's even worse when you hit a tractor or equipment dealership and the sales people and counter people know less than you do.. or nothing at all..

I would recommend the brake controller, sync, and backup camera. Not shown in that truck. The center information screen is a big plus too.

Yes, get one with the brake controller no matter what you do. Its about a $150 option and is 10 times the controller most $200 aftermarket ones are and will never look as good installed.

Yeah, that's the hitch on the one I looked at. Do you know what it's rated at without the Max tow package?

i agree.. I'd for sure get a truck with a built in controller if it was an option. I've never used one even, but that seems like a good deal... pre wired..oem and all..
