Yeah, that's the hitch on the one I looked at. Do you know what it's rated at without the Max tow package?

This hitch was not on either of the tow trucks you pictured. You must have looked at a third truck because neither of those trucks had max tow. Without Max tow the hitch would look slightly different and have a rating of 10500 and 1050 tongue.

Your current package list didn't include the keyless entry key pad. For the $70 invoice I find it nice to not have to take my keys with me into the gym or on a hike. Also I am not sure if that configuration is possible with the 36 gallon tank but if so I would get that. Other than that, it is basically how I ordered mine except I got the max tow with the 3.73 LS axle and the chrome package. The rear view camera is priceless.

Jeff, where on my '10 XLT can I find that hitch rating plate? And I added a wireless 3.5" backup camera aftermarket for about $100. Priceless for hooking up the trailer.

It should be on the bottom of the hitch. That is where mine is. Mine was a sticker and I am not sure if it is stamped into the steel or not.

Some things to consider before you jump to the conclusion that the 5.0 is not as impressive as the EB. What gears were in each truck? And also, the 5.0 had the larger wheels, at least it looked like it in the pictures. I am not saying that you will be more impressed, but those are things to consider before you make your decision.

One thing for sure about the EB trucks, it will soon be known how reliabile they are right now because Ford is selling a lot of them.

I heard they had a problem with a transmission leak, and the "new" Ford transmissions are sealed, no dip stick or way to add more fluid except drop the pan or something.

The sealed transmission is not new to the F150. My 09 does not have a transmission dip stick.

So do they fill the pan and reinstall it when you change the fluid???????????

It as a plug on the side of the transmission. Fluid is pumped into this opening. On my 09 f150 the service interval for normal operation is 150,000 miles. Not saying I will wait that long.

Sealed trannys have been around since the 90's. Nothing new. The first one I seen was on a Olds.

Some common sources of failures in modern trannies, dirt getting it and wrong fluid being added are reduced by eliminating the dipstick and fill tube.

Very nice. If I was ordering one today I would get the exact same truck, same options, same color, but with a FX4 and 3.73 gears but the 3.55 should do you just fine.

Sounds pretty sweeet!! Should get good MPG with the EB and 3.55's.

Interesting on your search starting with the Tacoma.....a few months ago my BIL asked me to help him search for and buy a Tacoma. He only wanted a double cab TRD sport package longbed in Blue or Black....:confused2: so I was busy for awhile looking. Test drove one, pretty nice....but the dealer wouldn't deal. And the next ....actually, they were few and far between with his limited search. After a few weeks, he expressed an interest in an F-150 instead of the Tacoma. Found a local 2010 with 7K miles with chrome package, 4X4, the same Blue he wanted, with the 5.0.....I was shooting for the EB but this was a great deal waiting, so he bought it. Loads of power, much roomier cab, lots of options, great truck that he loves.

Of course you know the deal on pics.....:laughing:

Well I drive a 2011 F150 XLT Heavy Duty Long Box 4X4 with mandatory 3.73 rear end. It is a fabulous truck. The heavy duty is special and lets it handle like a race care. I get about 18.5 on the intersate and 19+ on two lanes at 68 mph. The electonics are great. The seats are great. The radio is great.

Hard to pick on this rig.

That being said if you can look at 2013 the Dodge has 8 spds, an excellent hemi 8, and the best ride with the IDSuspension. If...you don't need to worry about much of a load. So look closely, choose wisely.
