If you are going to farm, you want those roots out of the soil. Best to dig those stumps out. If you have access to a dozer leaving the stumps long does allow for them to be pushed out. If you have a backhoe, like me, them leaving them long makes them easier to locate for digging out.

The "place" is 9 acres located in Eastern Washington. Not really a woodlot, more like an escape lot that can provide a little wood. It looks a little different now, but progress is slow.
