My dad gave me a start with mechanical things by owning tools and letting me use them. He was out for a visit recently and we were working on an old 8n...even at my age (early 40s) it still feels good when he says " you're a good mechanic"...thanks dad I own some of it to you.

The S370 & G154/174 both use the double knuckles. The ST1440, MT372d, & Yanmars uses bevel gears . A much better design. The axle shaft ( pn 11190672000) on the S370D is a weak link. I get quite a few calls on them. They are no longer available from Mitsubishi, but have some used & am making ones that are heavier & cheaper than the OEM one.

Technically, the G154/174s use a double yoke and single cross design, while the Satoh's use a double yoke, double cross according to the information I have. You can see the Satoh's here:

Satoh Parts

The Iseki skips the cross coupler and uses one cross.

I'm not trying to point out mistakes, just pointing out that the axles are not identical in design. Some people have asked that before and I just want to clarify it here also.

Your correct. I didn't stop to think before I posted that info. I should have said they both use ujoint assemblies.

Anybody got one of the these axles lying around for parts? I just found out I have a broken final drive case on one of the wheels (ouch). I can't believe it actually worked like this w/o showing some sign of failure. Another reason you need to be careful having a FEL - yikes! Hope you don't mind me "borrowing" your pictures 284 but I couldn't have taken better ones myself

Is that off of your Iseki, or Satoh? There is a guy parting out an Bolens G154 on eBay right now, and probably has a final drive. I can give you the link to it. You could try these guys if its a Satoh. Judging by the blue paint, I think that it may be.

This guy has the G154/TX1300 parts tractor, you could email him:

or if its a Satoh?

Thanks for the help NHMitch. Sorry, I should have stated it is off a Satoh S373D front axle. I should have posted in the Satoh forum, but this thread kind of was heading in this direction. I'll check out the links. Thanks again!

Those are all good links. Unfortunately, the S373D front 4wd axle is much different than the S370/2 fronts which some of those links point to. Attached is a parts list showing what I need. Appreciate the help!
