Loader LA402 Float ?

Dose the LA402 loader have a float position?
If it dose how do you put it in float?

I don't know that specific loader but most of them do. To engage float you push the control lever all the way forward. There is normally a detent that you push past.

i have a kubota b7800 with la402 loader. it has float. to use float, simply push the control lever straight up/forward to its second position and it will click/pop into the float position. it will stay there until you pull it back, you don't have to hold it there.

Same here but want to add something. At times my valve won't go into float, it is a brand new loader maybe 100 hrs. Works most of the time and then sometimes it won't. I have not isolated the problem but am wondering if anyone else has noticed this.

I don't think I ever had that problem, although it seemed to require a little harder push sometimes than at other times, but I wouldn't swear that wasn't my imagination.

That is one of the symptoms I experienced to the point it would not go in, just seemed to want to raise the front end. I use float more so in the winter though?.....

Might be rust, dirt, or broken spring in the float system. That is under the little cap at the end of the spool. It well be longer, most of time, then the other spool because it only has the spring center system. I would look at the parts brake down 1st, there is some balls in it.

Had same problem when mine was new, dealer came out and fixed it. I wasn't here so I don't know what they did, but they replaced something in the loader valve.

I had my Float stop working on my LA402 and just needed to get the new bearings and spring. Got some advice from JJ and that helped. the parts are pricey but I got it back up working just fine. It's not hard, though I recommend taking the valve controller off as the spool with the parts you need to replace are on the bottom of the controller.
