I will soon be in the market for a set of forks along with a grapple so when gathering up the branches from trees being cut down I can remove them from the area. I came across this drive in pallet fork grapple that attaches to the forks from underneath. Now it seems that I can have it all for around $1600 and take it off the forks when not needed. Does anyone have these and is it a good idea or am I missing something? CK35 hst woods QA implements

I have no experience with them, but they had new fork grapples in the last Richie Bros auction I was in. I can't remember exactly, but I think they went for around $600. Go to their web site and check under previous action results, you'll have to register if you haven't already. You can then browse inventory for upcoming auctions and register to bid on line. They had a couple dozen new forks, grapples and bucket/fork grapples in the one I was registered for, I picked up a new set of 48" forks for $475.

Thanks Kiotiken. I have also seen some bucket grapples that I dont think they would be good as the others. CJJ attachments has this grapple that you use with the forks. Have you seen them?

I haven't seen them seperatly, but like I said, RB had them as a set. I'm not sure if you can take the grapple part off on that one.

The ones that you saw are not the ones I am talking I think. This grapple is seperate from the Forks but has 2 receptacles for the forks on the QA platform to drive into and capture the grapple and bolt on to it so when you dont need the grapple you just take it off and your left with the forks by themselfs. Skid-steer compact tractor attachments farm ranch construction landscaping attachments cjj they are around 1100k. I just dont know how robust they are. its called a Pallet fork grapple. Thats a nice price for the forks you got. Was that a del. price?

Very interesting idea. The ones I saw are essentially the same thing, only as a one piece design. The disadvantage would be that the forks are not adjustable and you always have the grapple. Still, $1600 is a little steep unless you need to use a regular set of pallet forks extensively and only want the grapple occasionally. The disadvantage of what you're looking at is a good piece of the fork length is used up by the grapple attachment and the load will be further out front, affecting the stability and the lift capacity of your tractor. I can't find how much they went for in the last auction, but here's what I'm talking about.

I bought my pallet forks in the auction. They always have a dozen or more new sets of SSQA pallet forks and almost as many grapples and grapple boxes. I had to pay a %10 admin fee on top of the $475 and then I had to pay the regular sales tax, which is %13 here.

Man if I could find those somewhere. I have spotted them on Ebay and they are $1300. I can't seem to find a name for them. Are they marked and if so could you give me the model #'s?

Here you go WILDKAT ATTACHMENTS - Forks. They're called a fork grapple and retail for $850. They have some in the Edmonton RB auction (I was browsing the Canadian inventories) but I'm sure they'd have them in one close to you. I saw this last year at Empire Farm Days and thought it was something that I might need to own some day......

I just found their website at Fork Attachment

It looks real nice but awful pricey at $1449!!!:(:( Don't think they will be in my budget any time soon, but I might have to think about building something like it. Won't be as nice, but it will be good enough for who will be using it.

Not much fork left by the time that things bolted on. For $1500, there's a few fork options that have the arm built right in and give you the full length of the forks to work with. Interesting though, seems like a pretty easy build for someone so inclined.
