Tiller brand specific comments

Hello All,

Curious if anyone here has bought one of the rotary tiller's offered by jdmerchandise off of ebay? They look like a decent tiller at a very attractive price. I was considering the 53" model FWIW. They look like pretty much any other tiller. The only thing that looks somewhat weak is there is only one extra hole for the skids adjustment ( for tiller penetration depth). They arent as heavy looking as say a land pride but for the little amount I will actually use the tiller on,this may be a good fit for my situation.

Parts availability? I would pay a couple hundred more and buy locally. Or from a trusted dealer. Just my 2.

The "Buy it Now" price is fairly decent
Does have the "clevis style" mounting lift pins as well. which I like for beefyness.

The "Buy it Now" price is fairly decent
Does have the "clevis style" mounting lift pins as well. which I like for beefyness.

I personally would be wary of it. No name brand is listed.......you may not be able to obtain parts if needed.

China is known for putting out poor quality steel............your gearbox may blow out after 31 days and you are 'up the creek without a paddle'

Have you checked the price of a King Kutter tiller in your area? Or prices of other tillers with a longer warranty period?

I would PASS on this and buy a King Kutter for $1300 to $1500 and know that I had a well respected tiller that will till deeper than the 3 to 5" depth this one is listed for.

Brcisna I would be wary. 1) the tiller is in Los Ageles and unles you are very close by the shipping will cost dearly. I know I bought a welder from EBay and the cost of shipping actually made it cheaper to buy new. 2) Unless this is a name brand, parts should they be needed will be nigh to impossible to get. 3) If the tiller is from China then both the steet and parts are very poor quality. I went with the Landpride RTA 58 in tiller and am glad I did. There are a lot of tillers on Everything Attachments that would be better quality, for a few hundred dollars more. Just my 2 cents...
