Does anyone know the size of the mower belt for the 72 inch mower deck for the 1845, mine broke yesterday and as near as I can tell it is about 138 inches long and about 11/16 inches wide. I tried calling power trac but they were closed till Monday. Cannot find any belts that long in stock anywhere locally.

The PT Deck for my 1845 uses an B-136 belt.

Bob Have you replaced yours and if so where did you get the belt? I don't know if mine would be the same as yours, mine is the older 3 point hitch model.

Attached 2 pictures of deck with mouse nest found inside covers of mower deck, I don't know if it could have had anything to do with the belt coming off pulleys and getting chewed up or whether it was just the thick high grass we were cutting or belt just not tight enough. The pulleys have been replaced from the original by previous owner and I also replaced one.

Eyup. Had a mouse in mine once as well, but mine ended baddly for the mouse. I no longer run with the covers on my machine. It is a catch 22, leave them on and you have to take them off al lthe time and it is not easy on the 1850. Take them off and get a stick in the wrong spot and throw or blow a belt. Only issue for me is that I do not have a shed for my attachments, so they get tarped in the winter or nothing at all under a big fir tree.

As for the belt, my local NAPA had it in stock, but if not they can order quite quickly. I did that for one, then found a source online for a couple more american made belts (I have heard they are better (?))

As for putting them on, you have to pull the motor, good time to check your lovejoy. make sure you get the motor reasonable lined up and not too far off. The belt direction should be self explanatory, but do not over tighten. Keep the belt loose is better.

I bought a spare at a local supply firm. They are also available from online sources (just do a seach) and you might want to consider the BX version of the belt--I have had better longevity in some applications with the BX as compared to the B.
