Tiller Kubota BED MAKER INFO needed

I'm looking at a bed maker for sale, but from the model# I can't find any info.

the plate is worn can't make out the words for model or serial.
but the stamped numbers are model FM1100S ( the M looks different like it shouldn't be there.)

serial is 1122

I have never used one before and want to know if anyone out there has and do you have to harrow and till the ground before using this machine.

Also I really need to find out if it is a 540 pto attachment. Some attachments for Kubota run at different pto speeds, also there is no slip clutch.

Any help with locating a manual with the info would be great.

The tiller is a 540 RPM tiller as it has a six spline female.

OH and by the way the the entire PTO shaft will need to be replaced witha modern one which has the shaft guards and a slip clutch or shear pin.

The eurocardan shaft will be a better replacement as it is more forgiving than a shear pin type if the ground is compacted.



It is a rotary tiller not a tiller bedder, The tiller tines on this unit are ment to fo alot of serious work for the owner of the integral implement.

If it was a tiller bedder it would have bedding plows/discs directly behind the tiller to create hills/beds.


A little work with a sand blaster and some paint and assuring the bearings are not frozen and you will have a great tiller.

I would send a registered letter to Kubota in California and Kubota Japan to ask about this tiller if you are sure it is a Kubota tiller as they also imported all their implements when they first entered the Uinted States tractor market.


The good thing is the bearings and all drive parts are Metric and parts are available from most supply houses that sell roller and bronze bearings.
