I seem to have gotten the fuel problem solved. a new screen in the sediment bowl to replaced the one that was severly clogged did the trick. It started right up. Now on to the next problem. Ran the tractor for about 10 minutes tonight. Drove it around the yard a little and almost got it back to the garage and it quit. When I went to try to restart it, it would barely turn over like the battery was real weak. Prior to starting the tractor today, It had been on a battery tender and it was indicating a full charge. This is a brand new battery and I put it on the tender because when I had it running previously, it seemed weak after I was cranking it to get it started.
I thought I saw on another post that someone else had the same type issue. Once thier tractor warmed up, it stalled and seemed to drain a good battery. Could this be something to do with a bad ground or short in in the electrical system? I noticed after I attempted to restart the engine, the cable to the starter felt quite warm. Im sure if im on the right track with this line of thought. Any input as always is always appreciated.
