Still kind of green (14 hrs) on my Kioti. What exactly do you use the float level for? My dealer said it was used mainly if you have hills and need your implements to float over terrain (hips and valleys). I could see me using it with a box blade but now sure why I would need it with my bush hog. Can someone educate me? And do you guys use it much and what float positions do you set it to for each implement?

He's talking about your front end loader. For smoothing or draging your bucket. Your 3 point always floats

Yes the front end loader has a float position if you push the stick all the way straight forward to the detent position, it stays there. and when you go in reverse and backdrag it will float up and down and smooth out your material. The 3pt always floats as already pointed out. Here watch this old fat boy back-dragging with a Kubota L3400.

Notice when he is going forward he hits the FEL control and throws it into float and them moves backward.. don't do that with your Kioti. as the Kioti drops the bucket like a rock in float mode.. get the bucket near the ground before you shove the stick into float or it will hit the ground with a bang.
I guess this is what your dealer was trying to tell you. or maybe some reference to the level indicator rod on the right side of the bucket? to tell when the bottom of your bucket is level? More info needed to be sure.

Shows me how green I am when it comes to tractors and how well I listened to my dealer.

I have cleared a large mound of dirt to level an area in my yard -- I am guessing it would have been easier if I knew how to use the float.

Your 3pt doesn't have any down pressure, so it will float from the height you have it set to all the way up. Your DK40 should also have a draft control. The fel is like Murphy and K0ua posted.

Excuse my ignorance but what is a draft control and where is it located?

The draft control is the yellow one on the right side, when your top link is in either of the 2 bottom holes on the back of the tractor, the draft control is active.. the control by your seat controls the sensitivity of the draft function. When your 3pt implement pulls hard, then depending on the sensitivity setting your draft control will raise up the 3pt by itself.. here is a typical application.. say you have a plow on the 3pt. and it will dig itself in to a dept set by your position control.. (red control on the right). but now you are plowing along and the plow is buried just like you want it, but now you hit a big non moveable rock..what do you want to happen? Stall out the tractor, ? spin its wheels? break something? No you want the 3pt to automatically raise itself to clear the obstruction and once it is over it go back down to the depth set by the position. control.. Some people can also make use of it for the box blade too. I have no use for it at all.. as I never plow or box blade. Yet anyway.

Wait just a minute guys, this may not be about the FEL, although it could well be. The second set of remotes I added to my CK30 has float. The OP might have a float position on his rear remotes, especially if he had a second set added. The best thing I can think of using it for is easily attaching a hydraulic top link. Here's a thread that cover some other uses.

Well now see we did not even think of that.. I guess the best course of action is go back and ask the dealer,, "what in heck were you talking about?"
