I picked up an Ontario Grain Drill a couple of weeks ago and have no idea what model it is or if I can get a manual anywhere.

Its around 10 foot wide, wooden.

Here are some pics. Any ideas?

I have one just like it. Oliver Superior model 26. Does it have the charts under the cover? I have a photo of them somewhere and will try to find which computer I have it on and where. I can't get to them til I get home friday evening. I will look on saturday for you and post them.. Unless someone else has them.

Have fun on the drill restoration. A few years ago I restored an old Minneapolis Moline P3-6 drill (10 ft wide, 20 drops, single disc openers) from two units I bought from a neighbor for $275. Use it to plant oats in the 6-acre hayfield. I added a hydraulic ram (cylinder) to raise and lower the openers. Don't want to make turns with the openers in the down position.

Your drill looks in good condition. Should be a pretty easy restoration.

Good luck:thumbsup:

Danoz, It looks like a 15 hole grain drill, I am also looking for information on the Ontario Grain Drill.

If you have the seeding/ferterlizer information would you also pass that along to me as well I am looking for that.

Thanks...

These old, restored drills need to be recalibrated. The original manufacturer's seeding charts can't be relied on. Just jack up the drill, put seed or fertilizer in the box, turn the drive wheel(s) a set number of revolutions corresponding to some fraction of an acre, catch what drops through, weigh it and calculate pounds per acre. Doesn't take long. That's what I did with my old restored Minneapolis-Moline P3-6 drill that I showed earlier in this thread.
