Best retirement gift?

Thanks all for the ideas so far. I've been leaning towards a Home Depot gift card, but wasn't sure if gift cards were considered too impersonal. I know he'd get use out of that, for several of the projects he's got planned.

It's too bad money isn't no object. I'd buy him a Gator. Maybe I'll swing by TSC and get him an Gator toy!

That's a great idea....a gift card and a toy gator. You can always say you got him a gator for retirement.

I got a home depot GC which I turned into a Cosco 3-in-1 Convertible Hand Truck

I have used the heck out of it moving stuff to Mississippi.

A good friend and neighbor recently retired, and I'd like to get him an appropriate gift. Like many of us on TBN, he enjoys spendingtime on his tractors, building stuff, and woodworking. Any suggestions?
Sounds like he needs a gun .
You didn't mention guns, everybody likes guns...get him a nice gun. :)

Cosco??? Never heard of that brand of handtruck. I used a lot of them during my career and that one looks like a MagLiner to me.

Not a Magliner, look closer. Magliners are virtually indestructible.
Cosco makes a satisfactory lower end product for the home owner. They make collapsible ladders too, sort of like Little giant only cheaper. Which might also make a good gift.

Thanks for the link, I thought the name Cosco looked familiar and I will be darned that I DO have one of their collapsible ladders...the cart, though is a Magliner. Cosco makes a darn good quality ladder for the price, Little Giant is better made but you pay a big premium for the name.

It's a little offensive to write that someone is wrong and being so darned positive of it without checking your facts.
If you had even looked at the URL for the picture you would see it linked to Home Depot

Perhaps you should inform Home Depot of their mistake.

Furthermore it seems most, if not all Magliners have a curved handle, unlike the one HD sells

But the point of my post was that for a retirement gift a GC shows a little less thought but can always be used. My coworkers would have never thought to buy me a 3 way handtruck because I already have a heavy duty standard hand truck that I move freezers with.

Um...may I point out there no URL in post #13 for me to investigate, and I said the cart LOOKED like a Magliner. In no way did I state that THAT ONE WAS A MAGLINER. When I was referring to a cart that was a Magliner, I was referring to MINE shown in my attachment. Sorry if you didn't realize that, perhaps the wording is my post was unclear.
