PTO u-joint??

I have a howse 5' brush hog. The U joint broke off. Are these special u-joints or can I get them at any autoparts store? I went to one and got an automotive one and it was 1/16th" to long (couldnt get the clip to set in) and TSC didnt have one either it was way to long or too short.

Napa would probably be able to identity the cross. If you can be broke down for few days, Agri-Supply can fix you up as well, just have wait a little on shipping. bjr

I needed a u-joint for my post hole auger. Went to auto stores but they needed the "model" of the vehicle to help.
NAPA measured it, took out a 2" thick u-joint catalog and found the exact u-joint I needed. Ordered it and had it at the store in 3 days. Very nice people also.

Awesome So Napa it is. Yeah I crenge when they ask me year make and model of the car. Because 9/10 they say they cant help. I had to get an alternator for my 8N Ford come to find out the alt was for a 197x Buick big block GS (grand sport)

Did anyone consider that the u-joint in question might be in Metric measure?

Well I stopped by NAPA and they weren't able to match it up. I went back by Tractor Supply and Found one. It was missing the zerk fitting and the keeper clips but we just robbed it from another one. Installed it and Im good to go. $30.00 u joint compared to the $10.00 one at Autozone that was just 1/16" too long arghhh oh well

I have a trailer I made using an old VW Rabbit axle. When I go for wheel bearings at Canadian Tire the couunterman always has to know if the car had air conditioning ?????I have to explain that ALL Rabbits used the same bearings. Even having the old bearing (with the number) in my hand often doesn't solve the problem.

The computers won't give them part numbers until all the vehicle information is filled out in it's entirety.

Ran into the same thing at Sears today, in order to get tires for my 98 Dodge Dakota pickup, the guy had to type in the vin number. Just to get 4 235/75/15 tires.
