ok, a neighbor helped me grind off a bit from the toothbar with his 8" grinder and a torch. I probably could have done this with my 4" angle grinder, but it would have taken longer for sure. It now fits perfectly. I spent just a few minutes trying it out, and hope to do more soon. It appears to be very strong, and I'd recommend it, especially if they are willing to fabricate it 1/8" smaller for BX owners.

I've posted this info before but will do so again. If you are considering a toothbar or similar device, Google "Ratchet Rake" and watch the video. I've used one for over two years and couldn't be happier with it. The cost for mine was about $300. I can install or remove it in a minute.

As useful as a Ratchet Rake is, it is NOT a toothbar in the conventional sense. You are not going to be able to dig with a RR like a toothbar.

I've got two miles of dirt/gravel road to maintain with my B21, when I hit hard dirt that my BB won't scrape, instead of hopping off the tractor and putting the rippers down, which is a pain, I point the FEL down slightly (with toothbar) and rip the hard surface down a few inches that way. As I go forward, the BB catches the loose dirt and moves it to where I want it. Works like a charm. Sure, I hit rocks often and it stops the tractor in its tracks, but it could care less as long as I go slow and the tooth bar itself sure doesn't care.

The Ratchet Rake may not be a toothbar "in the conventional sense" but I can assure you this, I have yet to find an application that it could not easily handle. The Rake has two rows of teeth that are secured to the leading edge of the bucket every bit as tight as if they were welded yet can be removed in a minute. I have lifted the front of my Kubota off the ground while grading and removing brush. From your comments I would suppose you have not used a RR.
