Tool box on Mahindra 3250

Has anyone installed a toolbox on their Mahindra tractor? If so, can you give me some suggestions of where and how?

Instructions: Find and buy a small suitable toolbox. Find a place on the tractor with available space. Find or make some appropriate brackets. Drill & tap, or simply drill through and bolt everything together. Viola.

Sorry to be so simplistic, but if you have no ability to conceptualize the situation, do some test fitting, and then solve problems as they come along, this might be above your wrenching ability.

While they might not be on a Mahindra 3250, there are tons of threads about adding toolboxes to tractors on here. Do a search in this sub-forum for toolbox to gather ideas.

I mounted a small toolbox on the right side step on my 3510. The FEL controls made the R side step useless for getting on so it made a great place for a toolbox. I drilled some drainholes in each corner and put some rubber matting in the bottom.
Holds all the wrenches, hammer, widgits that won't fit in the matchbox Mahindra calls a 'Toolbox' under the floormat. I keep xtra pins, lynchpins, cotter pins, grease zerks, etc in the matchbox.

My tractor is an LS, I took off the right step which I agree is worthless. Then I drilled three holes in the tool box got some longer bolts and mounted it where the step used to be.

I have tool bag behind my seat which holds a hammer, adjustable wrench, gloves, couple of screw drivers, 10 or 12' chain, gloves, among other things. The seat is all the way back and it fits fine.

Do you have room on the rops bar? See the rops bar on my mf. It's were I mounted. Used 16" box got from TSC for $14. I didn't drill any hole in the rops bar. Used 1/8" x 1"x 5" long strips of steal, and bolts. Sandwiching a piece old inner tube wrapped around the rops bar.

I will try tomorrow to get a closer pic. Raining today.
I took that pic with a 8mp camera. Can zoom in real far. I can zoom in to point seeing the bolts.

There ain't many places to put a toolbox on a tractor, you just have to be creative!
You guys have really done some unique things to put tools in and on for the tractors we own. :thumbsup:
