Buying Advice L3800 WITH 14 HRS TRADE IN FOR A BIGGER TRACTOR

i called dealer today they offer 3k less then i payed for the tractor what do u guys think to me its to much maybe a grand to 1200

Shop it around if you have other Kubota dealers around, and by around, I mean 400 miles. I just traded my Kioti CK30 for a Kioti DK45 and my dealer gave me 94% of what I paid. It was 14 months old with 158hrs. You never know what a dealer might do to make a sale.

as a dealer, you need to show enough discount for a new buyer to give up 0/60 financing. thats typically about 3k. You maybe shown less, but odds are your then paying an inflated price for the new tractor.

Welcome to the club. I don't think anyone LIKES the price tag, it just comes with the tractor.
My Dad used to tell me, "Every time you change horses it's going to cost you money."
Be sure the horse your buying is the one you want/need, or your just going to go through this whole thing again. Each time you just go deeper in the hole.(No pun intended)

I've never understood used tractor pricing, that's why I've now bought 2 new tractors, but some people are obviously willing to pay almost new pricing for a used tractor, at least around here.

I was "lucky", there was a price increase to the CK30 after I bought mine. Kioti also had my cab on sale, so I saved $1500. So even though my dealer gave me 94% of what I paid, it's not 94% of what a new one would cost today. In the end, I was happy with the money I got back from my trade and I didn't pay an inflated price on the new tractor, although I'm sure people have paid less for them.

You may talk to a dealer who has somebody waiting for a tractor just like yours and may give you a great trade to be able to make both deals. It's free to ask.

I would NOT go with the mx5100! I have the L4610 which is basically identical in lift capacity with the LA852 loader, they both lift right around 2400 pounds at the pivot point (so a lot less realistic lifting capacity) and I frequently max out my loader. I mentioned earlier that I wish I stepped up a size, and a lot of that has to do with my lift capacity. I would certainly step up to the next size.

An old friend I went to high school with owns and runs a Kubota dealership. I was asking him about trading my 4610 in on a new mx5100, and he said why would you want to do that? He told me it's basically the same tractor with a few more bells and whistles and a nice new and updated hood shape. He told me if I bought that tractor as an upgrade to mine, it wouldn't be an upgrade at all.

I dont know about the L4610 but when I was shopping tractors, granted it was a few years ago, they had the L4400 , L4210? and MX5000 side by side at the dealer. The MX looked just a tad bigger but the front end and axle were quite a bit beefier though.
