grillo 85D w/tiller and zanon mower deck. Gravely Professional 12
I have been lurking for a while . I have had bradleys and bolens 2 wheelers and several others . My main machine over the last 15-20 years was a 1962 gravely Li had a finsh mower, brush mower, rotary plow and a tiller/cultivator . In 2008 the factory ( auto industry) I worked in closed . About the same time the gravely died . With the job prospect bleak , I sold it off . I pick up a mtd reartine tiller for the garden  Never was real impressed with it . Well last year the shifting fork bent alot of work to replace it and it didn't last thruogh this years garden before it bent another
I was luckier than most and was only out of work 5 months found another job but had to move . After a couple of years we were able to buy another house and are now on a 1/2 acre nice house. I have apple trees, pear tree peach and berry vine several grape vine and planning for a 1800 sq ft garden . My tools are the broken tiller a craftsman Gt6000 and a push mower. After a lot of research , part of the reason I was lurking. I made a trip to earth tools a couple weeks ago :D I returned with a Grillo 85D 22' tiller , hiller . The 28 " mower decks are on back order . and a hitch to make my cart work behind the grillo . My 85D is powered by the 10 h.p. kohler and has the bigger wheels I have run many tillers this thing is head and shoulders over the troy biult horse or honda reartine tiller, and as much as I hate to admit it a better machine than my gravely
I am selling the craftsman rider because it is to much for this yard . and will start saving fo a chipper/shreader to fit the grillo.
Here is what I was really impressed with. After my grillo was assembled, Joel the owner came out went over the unit personly made a few adjustments made sure I knew how it worked and put it on the truck himself . the owner of the company made sure it was right before it let his place

I used a Troybilt Horse for two years before I got my 735 BCS in '87, still going strong and a whole different animal than the Horse. I still have the original 10HP Acme engine and it starts on second pull when cold. I visited Joel a couple of summers ago, he put a new bearing in the clutch for me and I got an extension for the PTO, they're real helpful folks and know their products totally. You'll enjoy and get a lot of work out of your new machine.

Hey Roy,

Congratulations on the new purchase. The 85d is a very good machine for a very good price - about $3000 with 10 hp kohler, stock 5-10 tires, and 27 inch tiller. I'm sure Joel mentioned an 85d is gonna be a little slow mowing? 1.8 mph is slightly more than half of a typical person's walking pace.

Yes I know it is slow, most places in my yard that you can go straight for any distance are tilled up :D With every thing to go around I think it will do fine, if not it is only an hour down to earthtools to put the faster gears in it. Having several small patches instead of 1 single garden area I chose the 22" tiller.
Besides I don't mind mowing if I have decent equipment By the time I get home from work I'm ready to slow down and take my time A water bottle of sweet tea and my headphones with the reds playing and I'm good to go

P.S. I see you are a grillo dealer . Any idea how many grillos are in the U.S. ?

Joel went with me to the MOSES Conference in La Crosse, WI this past February. I asked him that same question. He said about 1000 since 2005. Since then, he's got in and sold out a container of them, has another one coming in, and had to air freight three more shipments just to keep up. With the way it's going, I wouldn't be shocked if he sells 200 more this year.

Spent the weekend at the hospital they rushed My wifes sister in and it is going to be a long fight to get her well. She could use some prayers.
So today I needed to spend some dirt time to wind down. I did some weeding then got out the grillo to cultivate between rows of the winter squash and pumpkins
