On the larger JD model compacts, dealers have to contribute if a buyer wants 0% 60 month financing.

Is this also the case on the 1 series compacts? I thought this was different because John Deere is only advertising the 0% 60 month on the 1 series.

Not sure what the question is here...

Deere is currently offering 0% on three different model lines (1, 5D/5E, and 3032E/3038E). There are requirements to getting the deal (you have to buy two implements with the 1, for example) with the biggest one being that you have be approved by Deere Financial for the credit. To my knowledge, there is no "dealer contribution" required for any of these deals as the offers are made by the factory.

In SOME circumstances, the dealer may be able to get you a better interest rate on a loan than what's advertised. Most car dealerships have the ability to sell a car or two each month with a 0% loan even if the factory isn't advertising any deals. They reserve these for their very best customers or to close a large deal that they might not otherwise get. These are held very close to the vest, and most of the sales people at a lot won't even know that they're an option.

Dealer contributions for low rate loans are not uncommon. Dealers have a fair amount of flexibility on where they choose to apply funds that they recieve from mfg. There are way to many factors that can change this from dealer to dealer. Dealer group size, market share, inventory, demand, etc all affects how certain finance programs are implemented. (ex dealer 1 has dropped in market share for 40hp units and is willing to "buy" some deals) Zero percent programs will typically have the lowest contribution or none at all when the mfg is looking at moving specific items for any and more of the above reasons. So some dealers will tell you there is no fee others may tell you there is irregardless of what actually may even be, it's all about getting the deal and your aproach to it.

Well ,wife and I left JD dealer about 3 hrs ago.. we were told 0% 48mo and yes 0% 60 mo but dealer would charge me 2.9% on my purchase and then our payment would be 0% for 60mo.
At least this is what my understanding of 0% for 60 mo.
Decided to go with 48mo.

If your budget supports the higher monthly to avoid the "surcharge", it's all good. :)

What did you end up putting on the contract? Huh? Huh? Whatcha gettin'?
