How about a simple cutting edge off of a Snow plow, they are a lot cheaper and replaceable.

I used a flat LandPride edge that goes on there light duty rear blade. It was only 3/8" thick and relatively cheap. Got it a my dealers. I would not recommend a 3/8" blade. I have wore it down in a little over 2 years and am now looking for a set 5/8" serated blades.

Did you wear it down on a gravel driveway, or on dirt? I'm guessing that use on dirt would not wear it a lot. Right or wrong?

Like Reggie said if you have a municipal garage or county road commission garage around stop in and ask. My local road commission gave me 4 used seven foot blades for free, they just give them to a scapper. They are 5/8" thick and very hard to drill through, after 2 tears of grading our gravel road the blade shows very little wear.

Very hard packed gravel. Quite a bit of use also. I agree that dirt would be alot easier on it.
