I hate my grease gun right now

He said you only do it once a day! Of course most of us don't do it but once a week or month. Still not my favorite job.

On my TLB, I have some zerks that don't need to be greased more than once in 25 hours and others that probably need grease every 4 hours. The loader bucket primary pivot and links are greased often (4 to 6 hr). On the backhoe, the bucket pivots and links also get greased every 4-6 hr. I grease the boom pivots about every 16 to 20 hours. If I grease them more, they just ooze grease all over the place. Other grease points depend on the amount of movment of a joint and existing grease if I can see it. The front axle pivot and wheel steering pivots get grease every 50 hours of operation.

What I'm saying is that I could grease every zerk every day, but the tractor has about 40 grease zerks and all of them don't need daily greasing. If I had tight joints and a new machine, keeping it greased would be my number one priority, but on my old loose machine, just keeping it working smoothly is my main concern.:)

i think it takes an entire tube of grease on my batwing.

I hit walmart and get a case of their amber generic #2 for that one. cheapest tube grease I've found. works fine for those things that eat grease.

Know what you mean. My 1982 International backhoe I just purchased has been retired for farm use and the more grease I use the tighter it feels but it will never see production work again.

Are you saying that the stuff at Walmart is the same as AmbrA GR9 available at NH dealers?
If so, what is it called at Walmart?

To purge air an easy method is to unscrew the pump end a turn or two, then pump til grease comes out, then tighten pump end.

I have bought the supertech grease and it works great. I usually by the Multi-lithium grease. I have found that it dosen't work well with my Pneumatic grease gun, but it works great with the hand held. Walmart.com: Super Tech Moly Grease, 14 oz: Automotive

i have no idea what the ambra gr9 is. the supertech grease is just an amber basic nlgi#2 grease. they have one that costs a hair more and is molly. both are cheaper than any other grease I've found.

I use the basic grease for situations that eat tons of it... like disc grey bearings.. and the batwing.. where you can pump in a full tube per use..

I have been using the Ambra New Holland grease on my new Kioti because the dealer brought out some for a gift.. I am thinking it is high dollar grease. When it is used up, I am thinking of finding a cheaper grease with moly.. I will investigate the Wallmart Molly grease

AmbrA GR9 is New Holland Multi purpose grease. Sounds like what you called the Wally grease.
I like the old Ford "red colored" grease but you can't get it anymore; it was replaced by the AmbrA GR9.
Funny thing, last new Holland tractor I purchased was made in Jesi, Italy and had black grease in the fittings. The New Holland FEL for it made in Sweden had the red grease from the factory showing at the zerks under the fancy plastic covers. Dealer says the red stuff is not available anymore but some New Holland equipment builders still use it.
The red stuff turned black with use so when greasing fittings that need to
be filled to the ooze out point it was easy to see if old or new was coming through.

You might be surprised.
The dealers are struggling. It's worth a call to ask the cash price before
assuming they are higher than Wally or an automotive store on anything.
