He said you only do it once a day! Of course most of us don't do it but once a week or month. Still not my favorite job.
On my TLB, I have some zerks that don't need to be greased more than once in 25 hours and others that probably need grease every 4 hours. The loader bucket primary pivot and links are greased often (4 to 6 hr). On the backhoe, the bucket pivots and links also get greased every 4-6 hr. I grease the boom pivots about every 16 to 20 hours. If I grease them more, they just ooze grease all over the place. Other grease points depend on the amount of movment of a joint and existing grease if I can see it. The front axle pivot and wheel steering pivots get grease every 50 hours of operation.
What I'm saying is that I could grease every zerk every day, but the tractor has about 40 grease zerks and all of them don't need daily greasing. If I had tight joints and a new machine, keeping it greased would be my number one priority, but on my old loose machine, just keeping it working smoothly is my main concern.
