Bed Liner Options

They'r kinda old school, but I've been moving my rubber "bed mat" from truck to truck since '94. It's one of the best $75 bucks or so I've ever spent!

I have had a bed matt in my last three trucks. I ordered my f-350 with the liner but i still like the matt on top of the liner.

the only drop-in bed liner I have had was one that came in a '95 Toyota 4x4 truck I drove for about 9 years. it started warping around the rails and got to where it wouldn't sit flat in the bed. sand, mud, trash, etc got under it over the years and when I finally took it out it was a mess! I had pretty good surface rust, nothing major though, but the bed was scratched all to heck as if I had never even had a liner in it. drop-ins have come a long way since then, and there are some good ones on the market today. I don't know who makes the drop-in liners for GM but they seem to hold up well, fit to the bed of the truck, and don't warp. out of owning drop-ins, rubber bed mats, and spray-in I've been the most satisfied with the Rhino and Line-x that I've had.

I put a Bed Tred in my new F150 and it has worked out nicely. Soft and easy to take out and sweep if neccesary.

I've always done that too. That way stuff doesn't skid around on the plastic liner.
The Predator spray on kit is supposed to be delivered today. I'll take care of that some rainy day when I can't work outside. But I'll still have the bed mat on it after it cures for a week or so.
Had I known before, I might have looked into the BedTred that pixguy posted about.

The one benefit, which is it's detriment, of the plastic liners is the sliding action. Many a time I have put a heap of brush in the back of my 8ft bed, taken it to the dump, and yank on a few bottom branches and the whole thing slides out. The better plastic bed liners have more indents for one to put a wood plank or plastic gate to keep things from sliding. The real downside of plastic liners is that if they are installed poorly water gets in easily and can do a number on the metal bed....Gary

Well, the Raptor kit arrived. First coat is on, waiting to apply second. Pretty straightforward as advertised. Mix, shake, shoot. That's the easy part. It's the scuffing paint, removing dust and masking that sucks!:laughing:
Use a well ventilated area and a respirator. This stuff has some strong fumes. I'm glad that it's June and I can at least open the garage door half way and open some windows. Also glad that I remembered a long unused respirator still sitting in the package in garage cupboard.

We always spray it outside. As you said the prep is 90% of the job.

I've got plastic liner with a mat in one truck, line-x in the other. It's line-x after this. A friend had his rhino peel on him.

I sure would have liked to do it outside but we had some showers on and off and a little breezy so I was concerned about overspray.
Time kinda limited this week so I had to squeeze it in when I could. I have to say that the thing doesn't look bad at all.
I bought the kit on your recommendation. I'm thinking that it should hold up fine for my use. Generally just boxes of downspout or a small skid with 300 or so pounds of aluminum gutter coil. There will also be a bed mat on top.
If it doesn't work out, oh well. I guess that I've spent more than $119 on other things that I shouldn't have. :laughing:

They hold up quite well. I do not have it in my trucks, both have factory applied liners, but the ones I have helped do held up very well and look just as good as the others I have seen.
