Is it possible to put 4th function hydraulics on a loader boom? For two independently controlled hydraulic cylinders.

I don't see any reason why you couldn't on a build it yourself basis. Might be hard to find parts or kits already made up. Hardest part would be deciding where to put the forth operators control. Pehaps combine 3rd. and 4th, function on a second joy stick or some fancy joystick with two rocker switches like the pickel switch on a fighter jet.
What are you thinking or running up front that needs four functions?

Like vtsnowedin says...... no reason you can't. All you need is money.

My thought was putting a v type snow blade on the front. Meyer or Boss type. Each cylinder operates idependently for full vee, inverted, or any angle you desire.

The manufacturers of those have probably hooked up more then a few to tractor loaders and have done all the trial and error. You might be able to use a lot of their truck mounted setup ,controls and hoses to get it working. I bet there are more then a few members here that have one of those on a truck and can advise you about how to adapt it to your FEL.You might want to restart the thread with a title with V-plow in it to catch their eye.

What tractor/loader do you have?

V-Plows are typically super heavy, and smaller tractor have some issues with FEL mounted plows since they stick out so far.

Well we have a few boss V-plows, 9'2" VXT poly and they are very heavy. We recently got rid of 2 that were on skid steers cause they just not fast enough. But I still have one on my T190 and I have the 7 pin attachment control, and 2500HD. My dad has 7 trucks and all have boss v plows Very nice plows. But I Never seen them on a tractor loader though.

Now I have seen them frame mounted (no loader) on deeres 4x20 series and they had them set up two ways. Run the full headgear lights pump and set up with the controller inside the cab, now the second way was to use the loader hydraulics but use just the blade no lights no pump and have the raise lower, dump curl, and the 3rd.

But say you did run it on the loader I would get a valve from grouser and it is a basic toggle switch that's a diverter valve right on the plow and still just use your 3rd function. Why run all the extra hydraulics when you can run just a valve on the plow, really it's the same as hooking up a grapple but you just have to plug in a wire.

This sounds interesting. I haven't bought the tractor yet but am looking at a used Kubota M7040. I have had several Boss plows and currently have an 8'2" poly on my pickup. I would like to figure out how to effectively adapt a V to a tractor. I figured I didn't need the lights or plows integral hydraulics and want to do it with the tractors own system. I want it to be durable and user friendly.

they all attached with the smart-hitch 2 just drive up hook up and go. he only bought one plow stripped down (no lights, no pump, no cylinders, no springs) he added two way hydraulics cylinders and made a different spring trip. i cannot recall how it attached but it was pretty much the same as factory. the tractor side had the vehicles side boss hitch and was bolted on with very little modification to the hitch. he had 5 deere's 4 4520s and 1 4320. during the summer months he left the hitches on the tractor, with all he did he never had problems. the 4320 used the loader hydraulics, it was his first v plow tractor, the other 4 he just bought it all with electrical and it was a plug and play. he farmed during the summer and did snow removal in winter but he pasted a few years ago and bank sold everything. now i wish i had bought one.
