I am not going to say that there are fewer masseys, but I think there are fewer massey owners on TBN here.

This is interesting so take it for what its worth:

Doing a member search by model of tractor. Now keep in mind, it is impossible to search all of them. Because sometimes people abbreviate or just list a model and not a make. So the way I will list them is exactally how I searched them

Kubota.............................................................12,597
Deere................................................................9,689
Case...2,157..."holland".......2,389........total of....4,546
Massey..............................................................2,638
Kioti..................................................................1,433
Mahindra............................................................1,347

So its pretty evident that there arent nearly as many massey owners on the board here. And again, I know this isnt all of them, because people do abbreviate. IE: MF, JD, CNH, bota, etc. So it is impossible to know an exact, but this is pretty close and pretty telling why we here more complaints about kubota and deere. It certainly isnt because they arent good tractors, it is just that there are about 4-5 times more deere and kubota owners on here than massey.

Here is a percentage of just the above totals:
Kubota............................39%
deere...............................30%
CNH.................................14%
Massey.............................8%
kioti.................................4.5%
Mahindra..........................4.5%

We have been designated as being in an "extreme drought" condition and the crops are burning up. I don't know if some farmers will have enough crop to harvest. We cash rent most of our land and really feel sorry for the family who farms it. We do a "share" on mom's 60 acres, but it is irrigated, so they should be OK.

It's looking like there might be lots of disappointed people this year. Just not good, not good at all.

Thanks for that information. That is interesting indeed

Couldn't agree more LD1, then factor in the reluctance of some loyal brand owners to make negative comments, those who seldom have anything positive to say (either by misfortune or character) and it all adds up to what we have here on this forum, try to help those who need / want it and take the rest with a grain of salt.

I just bought my 1st Massey a little over a year ago and must say it is one of the best tractors I have ever owned. I own 2 different brands Massey and John Deere and I am sure there are several that do on TBN. Not so sure that some day I won't be all Massey. They seem to be a little cheaper and as good as John Deere in my opinion. I know the resale is not as good. I also looked at an Agco Allis a few days ago which is the parent company of Massey and liked what I saw. Massey seems to be gaining ground as far as sales in my area but still has along way to go to catch John Deere or CIH. The big thing for John Deere is they have a strong dealer network in my area. Massey Has limited dealers in my area.

I'm thinking of a 1643 Series Massey BUT I have read of so many reported problems with low-hour front axle seal leaks on many of their compact units. Has that issue been resolved on the 1600 Series?
