TO PULL A MOLD BOARD PLOW EARTH TOOLS RECOMENDS 150 LBS OF WHEEL WEIGHTS. I CAN PUT ON 100 IBS OF BARBELL WTS. 50 EA WHEEL, THAN I RUN OUT OF ROOM. I WAS THINKING OF HAVING THE TIRES LOADED 25-30 LBS EACH TO MAKE UP THE DIFFERANCE. HAS ANYONE DONE THIS?? WOULD IT BE RECOMMENED? I WOULD BE RUNNING 50-60 LBS ALL THE TIME, WOULD THIS HURT THE TRANNY? ALSO IS THERE REALLY AND ADVANTAGE IN THE REVERSABLE MOLD BOARD? SEEMS LIKE HAVING TO TURN IT AT THE END OF EVERY ROW WOULD BE A PAIN. THANKS GUYS.

I have thought about putting glycol in the tires of my BCS 737 but haven't done so yet. I don't think you could get 50#'s in each tire anyway. Doesn't the 100# make the difference. I have found using wheel weights can really make a difference in pulling tools. Turning the plow at the end of the row would be more of a pain with short rows but not so bad if everything is in good working order and longer rows. I have a roll over plow to pickup and will use it in august and can give a report then. I sold on my single bottom plow cause I didn't want to plow in a pattern but wanted to go back and forth across the field from the high side to the low side.

Hi! No problem for tranny . They are built for pull. They use worm gear very strong. More weight more traction. Yes I put glycol in my Grillo tires but I think less two gals each. For plowing I built steel wheels. These ones are heavy. Pads are 5 in. large 2 in. deep they provide good traction. The picture is with 735 diesel. Good luck! Oldmech PICT0084ch2.jpg
