grass alergy? My mom has a dog with grass alergy.

a inconvienience for a dog.. but for a horse.. wow.. that's a tough row to hoe!

Something wrong with the horse, when the SO gets back in another week I will look up the correct term or diagnosis.

Behaviour was normal, just could not deal with the pastures.

I know I'm a callous SOB, but there are way too many good horses out there in need of a good home that don't need special feeding. I'd have a hard time taking in a horse that had that kind of special need. I guess the horse is lucky that there are guys like you out there.

there are plenty of animal people out there.

I have a 30yr old sorrel quarter horse with 1 eye, and he's dang near blind in his other.

he was a real athelete in his day, and did sherriff's team search and rescue.

he can still roll in t he sand and get around.. so I make the pasture safe-er for him when possible.

I guess you've got me there. I have an old morgan that is uglier than sin and blind in one eye, but my youngest loves him. He's a babysitter.

I guess I'm not as tough and calculating as I thought.

My wife recalls when we were students at OU back in the early 60's, she had a part time job at the riding stable, run by a crusty old guy. One of the horses used for trail rides, and one of her favorites to ride, was completely blind. When a tree limb or other new obstacle appeared on the trails he had no problem stepping across it.
It has been our experience that the older a horse gets the more sense they have. Too bad a lot of humans aren't that way.
