Kioti serial number decoded?

I'm new to this site so forgive me if I don't follow the proper protocol. I just purchased a used Kioti Lk3054 with a serial number of 426500778. I'm trying to figure out what year it was built and whether it is an "XS" model or "DSL" model - and what the difference is. I'm looking for service manuals, etc. Thanks for any help that you can give.

The first digit of the older serial numbers desginates year of manufacture, in your case, 1994. the "LK3054XS" was the name given to the tractor when they moved the gearshift from off the transmission cover to the left of the steering wheel. I think that was around 2005, the last version was the LK30, which had the same front axle/steering as the CK series. The back half of this tractor is still in production on the DS3510.

Starting with 2001, Kioti started using letters for the first character in the serial number. A 2001 model year would start with an "A". Your serial number startes with a "J" so I believe that would be a 2010.

OOPS..Thanks close.

KIOTI never used A-C in the serial numbers. They started with the letters in 2004 with the "D" series number. Count up from there, and skip "I" in your counting, to get the production year. They didn't use "I" either to avoid confusion.

The 2nd thru 4th numbers are, the model code.

That is the only service manual still in print. You may be able to find one of the older versions, but they are hard to come by.

Thanks...probably Robert at MEI. I'll have to remember this along with the no "I". So a "J" would be a 2009. Mines a 2004 with a "D", so I'll remember to start from there.

2014 Serial Numbers begin with "P" They skipped "O" just like "I" to avoid confusion.

I wonder if the engine designation is also coded.
The CK 27 uses the 3A139LWH engine. The XK2810 uses the 3A139LWB, and the CK2510 uses the 3A139 LFB. All are 1393cc. I figure the block is the same and the difference might be heads or such? The last three letters must mean something. I'm new to diesel engines

I called kioti in carolina and she said my lk3054 is a 2000

Just got my NX5510CH. Wanting to confirm the manufacture date on it:

SW710015

According to this thread it's a 2017 model

("S" is the 19th letter in the alphabet; less 2 for omission of "I" and "O" gives 17)

Any of the fields contain the week number?

Model year production need not follow the calendar year. That's been the case for automobiles, trucks and tractors for decades. Nothing new there. Nothing in the serial number indicates any unit of time other than the first character designating the model year.
