My new L3540 in the crate

I'll be adding bucket hooks and will probably load the tires. I thought long and hard about the remotes, but they'll have to wait.

The tractor width is approximately 5ft, so I thought a 5ft cutter would be the best match. Would a 6ft be better?

My L3540 with the tires set wide is just over 6' so I'm in the market for a 6' cutter. As far as the remotes go ... my dealer told me that its a lot less expensive to install them when they are initially building the tractor than waiting for later so I had them put on. Good luck.

Yep, it's a BH77, 16" bucket, and a mechanical thumb. The BH92 would have been nice but I wanted to keep the cost down.

The rotary cutter will be used on overgrown fields with lots of small saplings.

I'm not sure if the wheel width can be adjusted. I'll have to find out.

That's a nice tractor. I think you will want a 6ft rough but and box blade to clear the tire tracks. I think those tractors are close to 72" wide.

I think the outside sides of your tires will be much closer if not right at 6'. Measure to be sure. Philip.

Hmmmm. I was sizing my implements off of the listed overall width of 59.8" in the L3540 brochure. My aerator is a 72" model but the box blade is only 66". May need a bigger BB. I didn't realize the wheels could be set to different widths.

The width listed in the specs is measured to the center of the tread ... not the outside to outside of the tires. I found out that I need a 78" minimum box blade just to cover the tire width on my L3540.

I don't know where they get those widths at in the brochure. Maybe it is center to center? Trust me, measure to be sure. I know you will find outside edge of tires will be 72". Philip.

Thanks for the information on the width everyone. The 66" box blade was a special order, so hopefully I'm not stuck with it. I'll check with the dealer tomorrow to get actual measurements.

Congrats, you'll love the L3540 ask me how I know? I too started with a BX23TLB then a B3200TLB and now the Grand L3540, great size tractor for all of my uses, you may want to look into a bolt on cutting edge for the 72" round back bucket. Have a blast.
