so if you were at a Walmart Auto (SERVICE) center... amazing they don't, won't,
or can't service a battery on a van.

As for NOT honoring a prorate agreement, over 48 months on a 108 month prorated battery, if it were to happen with receipt-
I'm sure many states Attorney Generals might like to hear more about that.
Maybe without receipt could catch their attention also if the prorate agreement does not require a receipt but defers to the build date of the battery for the remainder of prorate period.

I was at 2 of them. One was willing to replace the engine compartment battery but didn't have a lift that would let them lift the van to get at the frame rail battery and didnt want to try it without one. The other one (where I think we had the batteries replaced back in 2008) flat out refused to work on a full size van.

Dad has the receipt but I didn't have it with me, so we will see what happens with the receipt.

they use a digital load tester. measures un loaded voltage, loaded voltage, and timed voltage drop at load. it's not a huge unit.. I assume it's a duty cycle controlled load.. and it's a short duration test. after the test it spits out a computer print out. that determines if it passes / fails, and if it is warnty or not.

A carbon pile load tester is the only tester that can determine if a battery is defective. Does Wal-Mart have these in there Service Department or something else? All batteries I have had checked with one either failed or passed the first test, no multipile tests required. Did have a vehicle with a electrical problem that would drain a battery after setting overnight or during the day in a parking lot. Cost an arm and leg to finally locate and repair at dealership.
