Jinman, thanks for the input but it seems to me if the item was delivered with a damaged box and the contents hanging out, the delivery carrier should have been responsible for obtaining replacement hardware, etc.
Anyone know why this is the case?
Sure.... profit.
If Sears sells 200,000,000 items in a year and includes even 10 cents worth of spare parts (like a few screws, a couple extra buttons on a shirt, etc...) that's $20,000,000 in lost profit.
JD have you even put the thing together yet..???
With the obscene mark up they already have they can easily afford to include 10 cents worth of extras.
Its nice to be pleasantly surprised once in a while, isn't it? I bought a Brinley lawn sweeper a few years ago. All the parts were individually wrapped on a blister pack board, numbered, etc... Directions were clear and easy to follow. It went together just right. I was extremely happy.Sodamo, yes it is mainly aluminum except for the braces at the top pf the frame and the horizontal bottoms of the legs that you fasten down. Surprised me how well it was manufactured I have the entire frame up now and not a single hole was out of line nor were any of the fasteners burred or any of the pre-installed rivnuts out of place or carelessly tapped.
