In what condition are your teeth?

Sounds like an odd question, but I just recently had the same problem with hearing my heartbeat in my right ear. About 2 weeks later, I ended up having a tooth pulled, and now since the trauma from the extraction and swelling has subsided, I don't hear the heartbeat anymore!

Hope it's something simple for you as well.

I heard it the other day when I had earplugs in while running a chainsaw. If it weren't for this thread, I wouldn't have even paid attention!

1. Hearing loss.
2. Pressure building up in affected ear.
3. Hearing heart beat in affected ear day or night.
4. Worse at night when sleeping on the affected side.

Does the above warrant a visit to an ENT? Let them prove that there is nothing in or around the IAC or temporal bone. Or would a tumor beyond surgical help be something you all want to suffer from. Your choice. I've CT scanned enough people in my radiographic occupation and not everyone was as lucky as I was with this tumor.

I heard the sounds for two reasons.
1. Tinnitus..I hear a loud sharp sound 24/7. However; there are times I lay down and tilt my head to the left. Then I hear an annoying pulse. I turn my head slightly to the right pr almost flat on my back and it is gone. I sleep with a loud fan on at night to mask my tinnitus.

2. Carotid arteries...After my first heat attach and after four stents, I heard a loud noise as I rested or slept. The nurse laughed and said that was the sound of blood moving freely through my Carotid arteries for the first time in a long time.

So for you I vote for the first. Your plan to go to an ear doctor is best bet and hopefully it is simple.

Hearing one's pulse is probably more comforting than listenig carefully and not hearing it.

Any update on this? I'm curious what the cause actually is. So many guesses I wonder if any of us are correct.

you have a lot of muscles that go around and connect near the ear. *been there done that* with some ugly problems with nerves.

you have (front, side, and back) neck muscles. then you have multi jaw muscles, and temple muscles, and some muscles at rear of skull. along with some sinus/noise and eye muscles that reach back some towards the ear.

any of these muscles if worn out and tensed up can cause other muscles near by them to start taking a hit and start tensing up. different muscle and combinations of them. can tweek a persons sense of hearing.

hopefully the ENT, as part of your diagnoses. will finger/touch various muscles, and ask if anything is sore or any slight pain or like. along with sensation test. pressing harder or softer to using different tools and rub across skin. to see if you feel things differently.

will be going tomorrow, and will post the outcome of this. Sure hate to see some of the people on here that think or make this into a joke> it's not. Talking with other people around the world might make a difference in our personal lives. Surely I'm not the only one that has had this problem, and from the listining, I am not. More people might like to hear the outcome and what not or what to do to cure it.

if it's a new development IE.. change.. I'd have it checked.
