How to control mice infestation on the tractor

My wife and I went away for a week and when we returned at pack rat had built a nest in our car. We noticed the check engine light was on and got it read at the local parts store. It said that an oxygen sensor was bad. Two hundred dollars later to replace the wires leading to the oxygen sensor that the rat had eaten. Now I'm checking the cars, trucks, tractor and ATV constantly.

Have also added glue traps and a live trap. So far 2 pack rats have taken the deep swim.

Leave your hood up.:thumbsup:
Guaranteed to keep them out of your engine compartment.

No what he is talking about is actural sticky mouse traps. They are just a flat tray with really sticky gooy stuff in them. When a mouse steps in one its all over, they arn't going anywhere and whey they stick in another foot to try and get out that one is stuck also, I have had several mice stacked on top of each other and stuck together its kind of well gross. They work well but I think I would try and anchor it down if you use one if that stuff gets on your tractor your gonna have a mess heck you may get on and never get off either!

Thanks, I was curious because the post went from dryer sheets to sticky sheets and I was thinking self- stick shelf liner turned upside down. <grin>

Buy a Jack Russell and forget about it. They tear mieces to pieces, along with ground hogs, rats and voles. They will keep racoons away but can't lick em in a fight. Jack Russell 40+ Mice 0 Probably gonna' buy another one so they can tag team the coons. Great Dogs

I second the Jack Russels, mine will dig 3 ft for a mole, he leaves them on the patio for you to see. Have not seen a mouse since we got him.

I have not had mice since I started using generic store brand dryer sheets, 1 by fuel guage they stripped insulation off, one on radiator top under the hose, and one by the battery. I change them every 3-4 months, or when really dirty/dusty...

Good Luck
David

Hello;

Victor ( I think ) makes a product. Electronic mouse repeller. Have been using them in the Corvette and boat. No mouse problems anymore. Also leaving a light on in the area works well. A small 40 watt bulb. Probably smaller would work also.

good luck, nicholas

I put cheap bars of soap in my dump truck over the winter. Mice never showed. Same effect as the dryer sheets I suppose. I have 3 cats...all good for nothing.

A rat snake. My dog is through playing with it, and it's hungry.

Did you have a mouse problem before you tried the electronic repeller? I always heard those were a bunch of junk. I've seen the scent repellants but never tried them. I've pretty much stuck with poison and the bait boxes...hard to keep them repelled when you have 50 sheep and a bunch of chickens constantly throwing grain everywhere :)
