Are you serious? That's what unscrupulous dealers DO. Easy to turn down the lift on any tractor thereby showing how a JD can lift more than Kubota. Ford does it, Chevy does it, Dodge does it, vacuum cleaners companies do it, and on and on and on.

The only way I would believe one of these side by side tests is people brought in their own tractors untouched by any dealer.

Our local dealer carries both JD and Kubota so I don't see any advantage for them to turn anything up or down.

Interestingly enough, about 12 years ago, I stopped at a JD dealership here in Harrison Ar., and at that time they also had a Kubota dealership in a nearby town. They recommended a B7500 for what I wanted to do at the time so I bought one. Imagine that, an orange tractor prepped and sitting on a green lot, and delivered on a green JD truck..too funny.

Local JD dealer here recommended I get a L3800. So I did.

For others it's a way of life. There are some that are conservative, and right on, then there are others that boost about ten to twenty more then possible.

thats the truth. ya gotta take this stuff with a grain of salt. a few years ago one of the OEM's got busted at Ag Progress for turning up their engine HP 20% in a demo where the competitors where all lined up side by side. It happens.

If I had it to do over I'd buy the tractor with the most comfortable seat. My neighbor's JD is so much more comfortable than mine it makes me jealous every time I borrow it. I don't care if it won't even start, at least I can sit there in comfort.
