I'll second that! The school I went to had personal coaching for both tests in a room adjacent to the testing area so they could grill it into you right before the test. I also bought a cassette tape (that's showing my age) for the law portion and listened to it nonstop for days while I worked, mowed the lawn, etc.

Do you remember what the cassette was called?
I guess it may be outdated now........ I will go google something like that.

You should find a school that guarantees their effectiveness, some advertize "no pass no pay". At least New Mexico does Construction Seminars is a good outfit if available in your locale. Understand that passing the tests and getting a license has nothing to do with being a knowledgeable contractor. The license is the required ticket to get in the door.
When I first licensed up I will freely admit I didn't know squat, over the years if you pay attention you learn or give up, also hopes to know when you are wrong and admit it, remember it and don't repeat it.

Most schools offer a package with the business law and whatever specialty license you want, I recommend you go for the package deal.

No license requirements here either. But I still keep good books and have to report sales tax on untaxed materials. License or not, I wouldn't work a day without liability insurance. That's a risk I'm unwilling to take for myself or my family. It's a good selling tool to separate yourself from the bubbas as well.

Agree about insurance. Otherwise you set yourself up for financial armageddon.
