The shipping will cost more than a new plug from MF. Last time I replaced boots, they were around $10 each. Go see your local dealer.

William, i can get those boots two for five bucks and about three bucks shipping on fleabay. several vendors there. as for the plug. it may be an out of production item and only source would be a salvage yard. That"s why I suggested going online to find it. As you suggested, A local dealer may be able to located that plug for him. if he is like me. my nearest AGCO dealer is 60 miles away. those boots where made for several models of MF tractors, so they are quite common.

For you guys, maybe, but we get nailed with customs fees, needless to say I refuse to shop fleabay. It may be available under heritage parts. You can also check Sparex.

Hey....what's you plan for the tractor...if you can get the plug out and refill it with trans/hyd fluid...how many more times in its/your lifetime will you be doing it again...just sayin'....oh the idea to stick a 3/4" bolthead on the top of that thing is a minor stroke of genius....Its probably what I'd do..Of course now, I use tractors for what they were originally intended for....hard work...not how good they look in a photo op.....BobG in VA

That plug is also removed when the tra tor gets stuck in ger. For all it costs, replace it.

When we did the crown & Pinion on Dad's 35, we rinsed it thoroghly with diesel. Put new shifter boots on, oil stayed nice and clean. Also parked under a tarp shed after that.

John, I don't know what these cost at a dealership. But there is ome on ebay for 14.95 with free shipping.

I flushed mine with straight diesel. Some people also like to mix a bottle of alcohol with the diesel to help absorb moisture, and perhaps some automatic transmission fluid for it's detergents and to add some lubrication if you plan to drive it a little to mix everything up.
