I Bobcat getting out of the CT business???

When I was pricing Bobcat tractors 3 years ago, I found several dealers that didn't carry the CT line. Their reasoning was that they didn't want to make the additional investment in the CT parts line. My CT235 will be 3 years old in September, with 200hrs on it and has never been in for warranty work. The last time it saw the shop was when I left the lot. I have no reservations about the purchase I made, and I'm half way across the state of Kansas from my dealer. JP

The dealership that I bought my Bobcat CT122 from recently got bought by a much larger conglomeration of Bobcat dealerships and moved to a more central location in Richmond, VA. When I was recently talking to my dealer, he told me that the new owners were shocked at the huge demand for CUTs in the area vs. construction equipment. They have since revamped their supply to include many more tractors over skid steers/excavators/etc. I guess the issue must be area specific, because in Richmond the small tractor linup is now their bread and butter!

PS: I'm not worried even if they stop selling tractors; the Kioti dealership is directly across the street!

Bobcat is a great machine...I am completely satisfied with mine. I am HIGHLY put off by Kubota, I think the dealers there are worried that the Bobcat CT line is taking money out of their pockets, as it truly is. I could care less if they quit making the Bobcats tomorrow...I'd just paint mine orange and put some Kioti stickers on it!

I have no complaints about our local Kubota dealers in Fort Wayne area, as far as I am concerned both are fantastic dealers in their own ways.
I just was never impressed with the product after hearing the years of hype.

I think the Bobcat is a much better product, in my humble opinion.

Well if there is any doubt about Bobcat dropping the CT line then just go their website and as of earlier today the CT line doesn't have anymore links, Web page says page not found.

Yeah, it's pretty clear what Bobcat's intentions were when all of the brochures I get in the mail have no tractor information at all. Next time I got to my dealer to pick up filters etc. I will have them take me off of their mailing list. Don't want a skid loader, excavator, toolcat, etc. Have no need for them. JP

I really think it is a shame. A bit short sighted. I think after a bit of time they would have been a player. Bobcat has a great name in my area and we all know the tractors are solid. I wonder if any BC dealers became KIOTI dealers because of their desire to stay in the business.

I think alot of the dealers were forced to sell tractors, that is probably why they did not do good.

How long did they sell tractors, 4 or 5 years?

That is making some sense then. Selling small to medium sized rebranded Kioti tractors, which would be primarily to homeowners, would be a lot different than selling skid steers primarily to companies.

The dealer that my Bobcat came from already sold NH and Kubota. I can think of 2 other dealers that were Bobcat and Kubota. You know with them selling other brands was not good for sales. I think it would be tough to get into the conpact tractor market today with all the other well established brands.
