Stopped by the JD dealer I used when I worked in Ohio yesterday. I asked him if he got the fax my dealer got about order cutoff of 2000 and 3000twenty orders in August. He told me yes he did. I asked him what he thought was going on. He said the cutoff was for current models only. If he takes an order, he's guessing for the new updated model. JD wasn't clear on that in the fax he recieved. Or at least he didn't tell me. This is what he thinks... stricter emissions updates and possibly new hoods. That was all he's heard in the pipeline. He also said that the JD rumor mill has the dropping of the 3005 and 4005 tractors after this year. Well he meant the stopping of production of the 3005 and 4005 tractors after this year. Said that there will be plenty around to sell for next year. He told me that JD has been putting alot of money in the high performance Gator line lately. So no big tractor news probally untill next year. Remember this is just his opinion.

My dealer has not received anything yet, but they are selling 4x20s like hotcakes right now; about 3 to 5 a week. He thinks he will get a notice soon if other dealers are getting them. He was out in Augusta, GA factory in April and there was no mention of a 3000 or 4000 series design change. He thinks the 3000 and 4000 series will be around another three or four years just with updated engine emissions. He did confirm that some skid steers are moving to Yanmar engines next year.

5m needs a HST Trans.

I don't have the auto throttle on my 4520 cab. I wonder if the AC could keep up in the heat down here.

D.

Only if it will be used as a lawnmower. HST and workingbutility tractors do not beling together. Will they ever put IVT on them? That is not hst.

Seems like they both agree on stricter emissions. Teir 4 i guess. Wonder if that will make any change in horsepower or pto power output.

What is the difference between HST and IVT?

The most basic description of an IVT is it is a combiniation of a hydrostat and powershift trans. I would expect to see some form of additional powershift options in that chassis tractor before an IVT trans but never know. The die hards will say it is more complicated than that and it is but thats the simple description.

Looks like the rumors are true. Seems John Deere is replacing or renaming the 2000twenty series tractors. They are going to be the 2R series now. 25-32 horsepower. Anyone else have any info.....

I am still with you on adding an ehydro to a 5xxx machine as an option, the diehard gearheads could still get what they wan't too.

Agreed! What's the opposition to HST (especially in eHydro form) being an available option on a utility-size tractor? Apart from the slight power loss, I'm really trying to wrap my head around why this is such a reviled idea. HST is pretty common in construction equipment; many of us use our tractors as very general purpose tools, not just for ag work.

I'd be near the front of the line for a 5-series eHydro w/ loader and cab.

You've GOT to be kidding me. I gave up waiting for this to happen and signed a deal last week for a 2720. If it weren't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all.

If you check JD's website under new for 2013. There's a picture of a 1 series tractor and it says "new 2R series tractors coming soon". I couldn't find anymore info or pics. I'm guessing new hoods and headlights and updates.

I too was curious about the 2R series, so I decided to make a speculation on what I think it may look like. Here is what I came up with...

Well... We were told that machines would not be re-named to the new system unless there were major changes to said equipment. I guess T4 engines in the 2x20 Series qualify. The "new 2R" series is the same as the "old 2x20" series, other than the tier of the engine. There will be two tractors next year, the 2025R and 2032R. For the poster who just signed a deal on a 2720 you did well - the price increase for the new 2032R is said to be quite substantial.

The "new" 1025R (replacing the 1026R) and 2025R will both be under the 25hp rating therefore not having a big price increase like the 2032R. Also the 200X loader will be discontinued and the 200CX will now be called the H130.

All new X700's and Z900's are coming as well as the 4-Seat Gator 825i-S4 / 855D-S4 with standard EPAS (Electronic Power Assist Steering) RSX850i's are now showing up at dealerships as well. (We got two this morning)

5E Utility Tractors will now have Cab or OOS available throughout the lineup from 55hp up (5045E will be OOS only) so you can now get a cab 55, 65 or 75hp or an OOS 83, 93 or 101hp. The "Limited" designation will go away with this change. No HST or eHydro available though, for those of you that want it.

Jamie,
Can you elaborate on the X700 Signature series at all?

Well... it looks ugly in photos but much better in person. I guess I should not have said "all new" as the basic engines, transmissions and frames carry over. The hood,(the scoop is functional!) dash and fender deck are new and the X749 does not have a replacement. Engine cooling and cleaning of those areas is much improved. 54" and 60" High-Capacity Mower Decks are now on the table - old 48, 54 and 62 mowers are gone. The new 60HC will work with AWS. If you are not familiar with the HC decks we have used them on the Z600 Series since it's inception. They are the same mold as the 7-Iron but made with 8.5 to 9 ga (depending on who you ask) steel instead of 7 ga. Great decks, we are glad to see them on the X700. These decks will be drive over like the 60" 7-Iron (which is also discontinued) but will have AutoConnect at least as an option - I didn't catch if AutoConnect was standard.

Interestingly enough, there is no John Deere "signature" anywhere on the machine, although I am told that was the original idea.

BTW J-Up was my instructor at the MoCo/Windrower outdoor class.

Thanks man! Good to hear from you! Any info as to weather the loader will still be available on the X7's?
The MacDon clone moco's look good.

Ooops! Glad you brought that up - no more loaders for the X700 Series. I can't believe I forgot that one!

Will the H130 loader continue to be compatible with the 2720? I just purchased a 2720 a few months ago and I didn't buy a loader as I figured I could always get one down the road if I needed it. Hopefully that is still true.

Speaking of loaders, what is the difference between the 200X and 200CX? The specs seem identical.

CX is quick attach/detach

CX is quick attach/detach
They both are quick attach, the difference is the CX has spring loaded latches for the quick attach and the parking stand where the X uses pins to secure the loader and no parking stand.
