I do trust the guy, I have heard good things about him, I am a bit nervous about getting into a port saw and what not, I am looking for a saw that will hold up and be reliable I am not racing with it.

Woods porting is work saws. Nothing close to whats used for racing.

I think I can show videos of this saw and sometimes he tested it with 28" on the site to show us.

Nice vid. If I got the times close in that first comparison vid, they are as follows...

MS361......36 seconds
562XP......33 seconds
372xp......36 seconds
440..........30 seconds

Thats what I came up with using the "ticker" at the bottom of the youtube vid.

2 Things tha suprised me.....

1. The 562 was as fast as the 372
2. The 440 was that much faster than the 372

What gives???? Maybe just a fluke with the 372. If you had posted ONLY the 361, 562, and 440, I would have guessed a 372 to be 29-30 seconds. Just a "tad" ahead of the 440:confused3:

Wonder where a 7900 would be in the mix???? HAving ran both a 372 and a 440, I would venture a guess of ~27-28 seconds stock. Just a guess though.

Woods porting. (not race porting) will actually make a saw run cooler and better making it last LONGER than the way the EPA requires MFG's to tune the saws

owner of above saws in test told me that 372 has never impressed him. Just one of those one I guess that didnt run well.

I rebuilt a stock 372 not long ago and has fresh rings with first tank of fuel. Owner of a muffler modded 7900 ran my 71cc 372 and his 79cc 7900 back to back. Owner of the 7900 bought my 372 basically on the spot. That 7900 wasnt impressive either.

Then I have ran 7900's that felt like mild woods ports and the last 2 stock 372 I have rebuilt was that way 2. Just luck of the motors IMO.

That's right!

I've ported 3 of mine and they have seen a lot of run time. Still goin strong.

My 365 is a 75cc beast by Stumpys Customs and it's usually in the top three at any saw races around here. He did up a 7900 this spring that was faster though.

There's been at least three 562 ported threads on AS. Stumpy did one, Mastermind did one and another, Mitch I believe. Do you know which one?

Think Master mind did it.
