I put several hours on my M8540 this weekend, weather was beautiful. How do you like the BW180?

I like the BW180. It is the best cutter for the money in my opinion. Can't beat the quality of cut. We have a DS96 and we liked it so much, that kind of pushed us toward the Woods. Only 1 thing that I don't care for. The hydraulic lines are left hanging over the hitch/PTO shaft when coming up to the tractor. Most of the other brands have a tall hanger through which the lines run to keep them off the PTO shaft. I rigged up a bungee cord to the third arm. Not a real big deal, but if I had to be picky, I would suggest they change that. Otherwise, I like it a LOT! It's amazing how much more grass I can cover vs. the 8'.

For me the 8' is nice because I can trailer it with no problem. When you go to the 10', trailering is almost impossible as it is a WIDE LOAD. That's a factor for me. However, if you aren't going to be transporting it go 10'. I have a neighbor that has a 10' and he commented to me that over the course of 1 day, 2 feet makes a BIG difference in the amount of grass you can cut. Another factor is weight. If it is a pull type, probably not a concern, but a 10' 3pt pickup on a M7040 will be a little heavy without some ballast on the front, especially if you are on some inclines/hills. My M9540 with the 8' 3pt needs weight on the front to keep the wheels down on some of our hills.
