BX25 MMM 'Up Position'

Thanks Hela, Golf... I think that's exactly what is happening- I just can't get it to go into the 'TOP' position. I bought it used so I suspect the previous owner put the mower deck back on to sell it and perhaps it isn't adjusted just right. I'll also note that I don't notice any bumps or clicks when going through the other positions either (1-4). I'll have to try it again tonight, not sure what to do differently though, i.e. specifically what to change / adjust.

The heght adjustment "Top" position holds the deck in the fully raised position regardless of the 3 point hitch position. Raise the deck completely and turn the height adjustment to "Top". If the knob won't turn to "Top", do the following:
Looking at the rear of the tractor, just inside the left rear tire is a linkage that controls the lift. There will be a gold colored bolt that faces rearward. Loosen the lock nut on the bolt and screw the bolt in one turn. Raise the mmm all the way and see if the knob will turn to the "Top" position. If not, turn the bolt another turn and try again. It shouldn't take more than a few turns of the bolt unless something else is out of adjustment.

My dealer said to be sure when raising to the TOP position to keep the lever from kicking back to the mid position to be sure it has raised fully.

If that doesn't work, you may need to adjust the lift linkage by following the steps in your manual. I found it all easier to understand by pulling the deck out and looking at how it all works, pretty simple really.

Again, I will assume that the BX25 is similar to the BX2230. If you look at the picture in my thread at
http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/...79-mower-height-limit-control-mowerheight.jpg
you will notice the stepped cam (part 160) that creates the different heights. This knob should spin all the way around.
The top of this cam has flat sides on it like a large nut. There is flat spring (part 210) that pushes against these flat sides to "lock" the knob into the settings. But it should spin all the way around.

I think the guys mentioning the stops are onto something.

On my BX23 I found just like Triple R said that you will need to hold the lift lever so that it does not kick back to mid/neutral position until you can turn the knob to the top setting. Then remember when you do that you will need to do again when you want to turn the knob again from the top setting to your adjusted height setting.

Guys, Just to avoid confusion, the BX2230 and BX23 are different than the OP's BX25. The linkage is different and there is no feed back rod, etc.

On the 50 and 60 series tractors like the BX25, the adjustment is usually quite easy as I described about 4 posts above.

Look at the back of the tractor and notice the big gold colored bolt just inside the left rear wheel. It's really obvious since the head faces rearward and it is gold colored. Loosen the lock nut and screw the bolt in a turn at a time until the knob will turn to the "top" position when the lift is fully raised. It's pretty common to need this adjustment.

Thanks Harry- very helpful info! I'll give it a shot and post back if it works.

Well, it adjusts just like BXpanded (Harry) said, and something I should have done a long time ago. Thanks Harry!

And I'll second Artisan's testimonial. The BXpanded stuff is great. I have the bucket hooks (both kinds), forks, dolly for the loader, dolly for the backhoe, hydraulic pressure tester and adjustment kit, receiver hitch, sprayer (25 gallon version), and carryall. I can say that everything is top notch. It all pops on and off just like advertized and is great quality.

I'd love the Piranha tooth bar, but I'm still holding out hope he'll come up with a version that folds back into the bucket (hint, hint). ;)

I didn't get his Under Armor since I very rarely have the mower deck off. I went with the BroTek that covers just the back half so that I can have that left on with the mower deck on. I did have to cut out a small square at the very back of the BroTek skid plate so that the BXpanded receiver hitch can slide on without interference from the plate. I also have the BroTek backhoe thumb and love that!

Both Harry of BXpanded and Richard of BroTek are great to work with if you have any questions or anything prior to ordering their stuff.

OK, I'll keep my yap shut cuz I have no idea.
On second thought, it sounds like the knob is similar even if the adjustment is not. :confused3:
